Excellent, attentive service. Servers are very kind and helpful with any recommendations if you have a hard time narrowing down your picks from all the good options to choose from! The Japanese pickles are delicious, buta kimchi is a favorite for sure. So much flavor in every dish. This is a place I love coming back to 🙂

Let’s get the negative stuff out of the way : this place looks like a high school cafeteria, decor is spartan at best; service is okay, one kid was a bit clueless but helpful nevertheless. The highlight then is: the quality of the food. Ordered their signature Monjayaki which was interesting (so is the grilled stingray), their popcorn shrimp is a surprise , the eggplant with minced pork is delish, lotus root salad and jelly fish appetizer is nice too. I gave it five star purely due to the food , and the lack of patron on a Thursday night. Hope this place survives. Parking is gated within/under the Gardena Hotel

A great little restaurant. We ate here because we were staying at the New Gardena Hotel and were pleasantly surprised! We ordered 1 Curry, 1 Happa Chicken bento box, pan fried gyoza, and Karamen. Everything was hot and delicious. The Curry and chicken was awesome!!

visited Happa Restaurant for the first time w/ friends and my must order items are:
-Mochiko Chicken
-Mentai Potato Macaroni
the Mochiko Chicken was perfectly crunchy and chewy, seasoned perfectly with the accompanying sauce.
everything on the menu at Happa Restaurant is a la carte. when one of the gf’s ordered the Mentai Potato Mac (she offered to share it with the group), i knew i needed to order my own – so glad i did.
in fact, our entire party of 5 ordered our own individual Mentai Potato Macs because nobody wanted to share the yumminess.
our group also ordered the Shishito Peppers and Agedashi Tofu for sharing and we all ordered an entree.
the food is on point at Happa Restaurant, if i lived closer, i would be a regular.
parking is located down the driveway of the New Gardena Hotel. you will see a gated entrance upon driving down the driveway, simply drive up to the gate and the gate should slide open.

Great customer service and the food comes very fast. The restaurant resides within the hotel and guests of the hotel and the restaurant can park inside the indoor garage.

Worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We were ignored for 15 minutes while the other people were being attended to by the wait staff. When we flagged the waiter down we were asked, “what?” In an extremely rude tone. When trying to place the order I was told that I would have to cook the food myself. We left at that point.
I can’t help but think that this interaction was racially motivated.
