Kinda dingy inside and very hard to communicate with the cook but the food was sooo good!! I think I ended up with tibs and injera. Whatever it was it was very tasty, I’ll be going back.

Both times I’ve tried to come here to get something to eat, in the middle of the day, the door has been unlocked but inside, it seemed closed and not intended for customers to enter. Both times, there was one employee inside, seemingly confused that I should be showing up interested in paying them money, and they waved me away. Surprising! I just want some Ethiopian food!

Atlas is one of the hidden local gems. Every time you visit, you will be surprised with a new thing. Their kitchen provides authentic home made food. The Fatyra lahmah they provide is the best I tried here in the US so far. Mohamad and Ayman are so friendly and treat their customers as if it was a neighborhood local market in Syria (كأنها دكان الحاره). Always Mohamad gives me high quality meat that fit the best the thing I am planning to cook. If you throw a party over the weekend or having guests over, they will catering you table with home made authentic food.

Got the buffalo pizza. Really terrible. Shared it with my family and nobody could tolerate a second slice. The pizza did not taste fresh, the chicken was dry, the onions were soft, the taste was bitter. I wanted to like this place since it’s a small local spot, but something was wrong with this. And I spent over $19 for the pizza ‍♂️

No longer halal butcher shop there, it’s an Ethiopian market that kept part of the name and setup from the old owner. I wish someone could tell me where the Halal butcher Mohamed and his wife went.

Update 2024: the business is under new management. There’s no longer a Halal butcher here, just a restaurant and limited groceries. The new owner is Brazilian and they still carry Halal chicken and beef but the menu also has pork items now like chorizo and pork bacon. Cross contamination is likely, for people that are concerned about that.

I used to go here for meat when I lived in the area. The quality of the meat was always good but it was a bit of a hole in the wall. A good local butcher none the less, particularly since he stocks goat too. Oh, and once in a while they have Halal pastrami and other deli meats which are incredible.

I happened to visit recently and they had started serving food. So I decided to try a couple of items. They had a $5.99 deal on cheese burgers and for that price, you get a 1-inch thick beef burger with two slices of cheese and lettuce and tomatoes. It’s not a gourmet burger by any means, but if you’re all about the meat, let me tell you, this burger is satisfying.

The main downside here is the atmosphere, things seem even more run-down than the used to be in earlier years, but the staff is super friendly and take-out is a great option. Also, call ahead or order online since they make everything fresh.

It’s a great store with variety of goods from middle East and Eurasia. The owner is super friendly and helpful to guide you through similar items. They have specific meat and veggies as well as dairies, grains and microwaveable food. It’s a good little place if you are from that part of the world or simply enjoy some changes in your spice cabinet.

As someone had also reported, they sold me meat that was expired. I went to the store on September 7th and purchased $30-$40 worth of goat meat. Only to discover that when I arrived home it was so rotten it had slimy residue and reeked. I called the store and they apologized, explaining the power had gone down and items in freezer had gone bad. They replaced the meat with the same issue at which point I didn’t bother to go back. I seriously would never ever do any future business at any place that so carelessly prioritizes making a sale over customers well-being and health. The health department should consider inspecting the kitchen before someone gets sick.

I would like to thank Mr. Mohammad the shop owner for his courtesy to his customers and the quality of his products. I have been coming to Atlas market for well over past 10 years to shop for halal meat and other items and I always have received the best halal meat and great customer service.
