I woke up this morning at 7 am to meet someone in Newark. I didn’t get a chance to eat breakfast.

I was leaving the wells fargo across the street and noticed that there is a bakery across the street

So I decided to walk across the street and find out what options they have

At first I was greeted by a beautiful lady that asked how my day was

I then decided to scan around and see their options

I wanted a Crossant, Muffin and then she asked me if I wanted hot chocolate or coffee and I like hot chocolate personally so I went with that option

Then I asked her if she recommends the chicken or beef patty. She loves all of them, heh what a joy. She recommended the spicy, but then said you sure you want to order it. I was like I’m Hispanic I love spicy. We had a laugh. I understand some people don’t like spicy or can’t handle it. But honestly it was just the right ting that made it taste so good. Mind orgasm from the food hahah

This croissant with hot chocolate mixture is so mmmmmm good

10 out of 10 recommended

Thank you Lady who i wish i got her name to add it to the review

One more then I got all of this for 9 dollars, better than Starbucks breakfast

This place is horrible now. The patties are too small for the asking price($1.60). They use to cost $1.00 two years ago. There’s a $10.00 minimum for cards? I’m sure they charge merchant fee. Very shady business practices.

Don’t bother. Give me change in all quarters. And short changed me. Gave me the oldest hardest croissant in the case. Just say you’re closed to the public if you don’t want walk-in’s. Drove out if my way to support a neighborhood business, I could’ve been treated better and got better product in any supermarket.

Someone recommended this place and I am very surprised that I spent so much on extremely small patties. I was expecting to get mini patties, instead I got patties that were cut in half. The lady wanted to argue with me about the type of pattie that she wanted me to have due to allergies, excuse there is a choice and labels. The pattie wasn’t ready when I got there and said the one I wanted wasn’t available even when I paid ahead of time. She was playing too much and these patties were very little. I mean very small box. I paid ahead of time $30. They were about two inches, this lady cheated me.

This place has been my to go spot when picking up patties for party’s, gatherings, etc. Their patties aren’t big and square like the typical Haitian patties; it’s more rectangular and portion controlled. My only thing is – is the pickup for phone orders. You can call and place an order but expect to wait a bit when you arrive. In my opinion it’s pointless to even call for the order but the patties are tasty so it’s worth it for me.

I really tried to support this business. Even after I purchased a bag of elephant ears that while I was still in the shop I discovered after paying that a mouse had eaten through the bag and one of the elephant ears, I was gracious when the owner exchanged that bag for one from the back. Still, when I returned a few weeks later to order 2 dozen mini patties and instead got regular sized patties, I addressed the owner and she accused me of lying. I again decided after she apologized to give the woman owned black business another chance. But this is the final straw. Not only was I treated rudely when I entered the bakery to order two dozen mini patties for my birthday party a week in advance, they were ready much later than I was told. In addition, my son who went to pick them up was told they didn’t have what I ordered. When I finally got them, they weren’t mini patties, they were larger patties cut into pieces! So essentially I paid $20 plus tax for 8 regular sized patties cut into three. I called the bakery and asked the owner to confirm what I was looking at in the boxes and she said “mmhmm”. For context, one patty costs $1.25. I will never purchase from this establishment again and tbh, I think I’m being discriminated against because I’m not Haitian. The owner who accused my of lying only apologized after my Haitian friend said something to her. Because even upon showing her the receipt that I ordered mini patties the first time, she started aggressively commenting in creole and I could tell they weren’t nice comments. So I called him into the store and she completely changed her attitude.

The ladies that work here are your typical Haitian “Manmi”s…ready to feed you delicious food, joke with you and will reprimand you if needed. My wife and I went in to pick up some pate kode but they were sold out. After apologizing profusely they begged us to wait while they whipped up a fresh batch…the wait was worth it. The patties were stuffed full, perfectly cooked, and delicious!!

Try the yellow soup. That’s what my wife calls it. It’s actually yam soup, very good. The beef patties are great.

I went here to place an order for patties. The female owner appeared annoyed bc I wanted to place an order for pick up t day. She said very agitated “we are not here thanksgiving “. Ok fine I will pick up wednesday. She asked for my order and I wanted to order 12 patties. She said that’s it I said yes she said you don’t need to place an order for this. I said yes I do bc there are times I want a certain Pattie and yall run out. After paying I decided to not deal with these people this asked for a refund. She got the nerve to tell me to next time I should make up my mind. Nasty!!!

I have been eating various Haitian patties a few times a year for over 15 years. I remember the first time I ate them, it was such a unique taste. I loved that crispiness of every bite and that filling to prevent the dryness from being too overwhelming. I still enjoy them but now they are like half the size and the filling is spread thinly inside. I never purchased them so I don’t know how much the prices have changed in comparison with the size of the patties. Parking is very challenging since it off a main road.
