For a first time experience I can tell you I would probably never eat here again. I love the idea of this place but the prices are too pricey for what you are getting and the noise level is horrible. I don’t know how the staff handles it. It is definitely not a place I would recommend to someone who has noise sensory issues. The staff for the most part is friendly (some more so than others). And the food came out quickly. I personally do not like a place you order at in front of everyone before you sit down but I get the concept of it and it seems to be a popular thing in Shreveport. The gumbo had great flavoring but it was runnier than I expected. I dislike ruffles potato chips with a passion and would have preferred a pasta or a potato salad as an option. The sandwiches are an average sandwich expect the roast beef is sliced thicker than normal and the turkey was really salty. I will leave this place to the locals to frequent.

Ist delivery order from this staple in Shreveport. I ordered sandwiches chicken salad had a smoky taste and shrimp salad both on wheat bread. The presentation was nice from the menu , I wasn’t sure if the chips came with the sandwich but they are pictured on a plate . I ended up with extra potato chips. They weren’t in a small bag but in a small take out container. There was also a pickle slice garnishing the meal . Sandwiches nicely cut in half. My favorite cake is German chocolate . One of my desserts ordered was the German chocolate pie and a slice of apple pie. Neither dessert was too sweet . For the apple pie I mainly tasted the cinnamon seasoning .

I haven’t been in a while, but has always been my favorite. The chicken salad was extremely salty and the pecans on top of the pie were burnt. The meal was $20 and I’d wished I’d gone elsewhere.

This is a nice homey place. The service and staff were great. The atmosphere is a lil noisy and can get crowded. I had the chicken salad sandwich and shrimp etouffee. The etouffee was delicious. Well seasoned with great flavor. The chicken salad, however, was not delicious. It didn’t taste like it was seasoned with anything but salt. The flavor was definitely lacking. I also taste a friend’s red beans. Same result as the chicken salad, no seasoning. I can’t say I would go back but the etouffee was really good

One of the classic lunch spots in Shreveport to get Louisiana cuisine. Many local professionals frequent Jacquelyn’s; definitely a place to see and be seen for lunch.
Pictured is the combo platter with jambalaya, red beans and rice, and shrimp étouffée, (served with warm buttered bread). Shrimp salad and chicken salad are simple but delicious and are also local favorites.
(PS: Iced tea is the best in town!)

Honestly, the food was very mid. We got jambalaya and spaghetti, but the noodles were a bit overdone and the jambalaya was okay. We ate all the food because of how much we spent, but its most likely not a place we’d come back to. The portions were also pretty small (even though we ordered “large”), and a plate is about 5-6 Splenda packets in length and about 3-4 Splenda packets in width. Spaghetti was $16 and jambalaya was $9.50! Service was like any other cafe – mostly self serve

One of my Shreveport favorites! Wonderful Southern food! Friendly service! After I’ve been away living in Austin they remembered me when I walked in. Must visit local favorite! I always get the trio sampler, a little of the best of everything.

I had the gumbo. And as a local and lifetime Louisiana native it was fabulous! It wasn’t spicy, but it had great flavour and was dark the way my grandma always made it. We were well taken care of despite coming in an hour before close. They even accommodated hearing a bottle for my baby. Must definitely will be back whether I stay to eat or take to go!

Made my first visit the other day, Had Jambalaya, Shrimp and Crab Gumbo, Red Beans and The Turkey Salad. Couldn’t possibly eat it all between two people, but every thing was delicious! My partner was able to make room for Pecan pie which was also great. Pretty affordable over all and the staff was super friendly and attentive. Will be back and definitely recommend !
