Great spot to stop for a meal or a quick snack. I sampled several items and all were good, a few were fantastic.
The opinions I express are based on my multiple decades of consuming restaurants food.
1. ) Cole Slaw was good..I like for it to be a bit creamier and a touch sweeter.
2. ) Tavern Sandwich was good..I like for it to be not as sweet.
3. ) Bacon Double Cheese Burger was great..the smoke flavor of the Bacon overpowered the burger, so no bacon next time.
4. ) Pepsi Shake was amazing..even though not on the menu and my server had never made one, she produced a perfect one.
5. ) The Onion Rings were fantastic !! I will order with light salt next time.
I will absolutely be back next time I pass by..lots more goodies on the menu to sample.

4.5 stars rounded up. The burger was a bit small but tasted great. Ice cream was tasty. The waitress was friendly and very helpful.

recently stopped by The Villager and ordered a meal that consisted of a small omelet and two tiny pancakes. For $11, I expected something a bit more substantial. The omelet was underwhelming in size and lacked flavor, with a sparse filling of vegetables that didn’t quite make up for the cost. The pancakes were no better—tiny and dry, barely enough to call a side. I had to ask for extra butter just to make them edible.

While the staff was friendly, the meal itself left a lot to be desired. At this price, I would have expected a more satisfying portion and better quality. Definitely not worth the cost.

We really like local places and we really wanted to like this more than we did… It was fair. But we appreciate the food and thanks for being there.

The manager is very rude and the food is very bland. The ice cream has even became pretty gross and it used to be really delicious.

It was amazing food. Plus they made a fresh pot of coffee for me It only took like 5-10 minutes for the food. And the waitress was awesome. I recommend to get a strawberry shake as well it’s only $3.50. Real strawbeeries.

The serving size is great for the price. The service received was close to non-existent while dining. The volume is at a good level and it’s easy to carry a conversation while dining here. The restrooms are down a flight of stairs and so handicap access is limited to there.

We love it here. Such great food, with amazing prices, And very delicious ice cream. Not very often you can go somewhere eat AND have desert with 3 people for under $40.
Any time we go to Sac city we have to eat here.
