This Filipino restaurant is nothing short of exceptional. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with genuine warmth that feels less like dining out and more like being invited into someone’s home. The food is the true star—rich, soulful, and packed with authentic flavors that clearly come from tradition, care, and pride.
Every dish is expertly prepared and beautifully balanced, whether it’s the deep, savory comfort of classic stews, the perfectly seasoned grilled meats, or the vibrant sides that bring everything together. You can taste the patience and love in every bite. Even the simplest dishes are elevated, making the entire menu feel thoughtful and intentional.
The service is attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, with staff who are happy to explain dishes and make recommendations, especially for anyone new to Filipino cuisine. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the overall experience is incredibly satisfying.
This is the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression—where you crave the food long after you’ve left and can’t wait to come back. A true gem and a must-visit for anyone looking to experience Filipino food at its absolute best. ✨
You get so much food for such a decent price. I got the Bicol Express and the Tortang Talong.
The torta wasnt particularly my thing since it lacked that charcoal taste that i like. But that’s my preference.
I can’t comment on the lunch special as for the value or lack there of since I arrived there around 230 pm during the week. I was in a rush to get home because considering its location, I would be stuck in traffic if I stayed past 4pm. Realizing this I decided to go a la carte.
Pricing is as follows for what I had: 8.99 for the black medium container and 12.99 for the large white soup bowl sized container for anything on the hot trays. A little bit too much in my opinion, but they fill the containers as much as possible.
This is a family run business take it as you may. I think I saw the Doña making lumpia toward the back of the dining area.
By the way seating is ample, about ten plus tables. There is a cold water fountain right before the serving line.
As for the food I ordered for takeaway, I went for the sinigang (clear sour tamarind soup), adobo (stewed soy sauce and ginger chicken), and sisig (chopped up pig face and ears), and some turon (fried wrapped banana).
The sinigang was very good with the right balance of sourness and pork broth flavour. I appreciate the doneness of the spare ribs as they were tender and juicy and not over cooked. Veg were the appropriate type.
Adobo is fine. Mostly a soy sauce flavour, I personally would like a bit more sourness and garlic, but the chicken was cooked well.
Sisig was the best part, consisting of soft parts, mostly pig ears with some peppers and onions thrown in. For those to complain about the texture and want that real gooey gelatinous and slightly crispy texture, buy a plane ticket to the Philippines , spend the time in quarantine and get it there. There are no Filipino restaurants in the states or even Canada that I have been that exhibits that texture. They all dice these parts, season and stir fry: that’s it. Unless you get the time and effort to letting the hash crisp and ooze on a hot plate, you are not getting it.
Turon was excellent, best I had in a while. Skin was crisp with a nice syrupy coating and plenty of banana flavour. It was rolled like a long egg roll, that was unusual.
I liked this place, they especially do their meats well, even if I came at a later time. Will return and try their other dishes and desserts. Also funny name, we all know where you got that idea from!
The right is what they serve now for $8.99, or $9.73 after taxes. I am sad that I referred people to this place, all of which enjoyed it.
I always have a rule with eating out, which is “If I pay for lunch and I don’t leave full, I don’t see myself coming back.” Sadly, it has reached that point.
On the lookout for another decently priced Filipino Restaurant in the Greater Houston area.
If there’s one thing Filipinos love, it’s rice, more so than the dish itself, even that is “rationed”. You guys make delicious food, 15 trays of 15 different dishes, serving this portion sizes means you are throwing away at least 1/2 of what you cook on weekdays, as opposed to satisfying customers, at least the loyalists, like myself, to keep on coming back.
