This was our first time visiting Valentinos and it did not disappoint! Their food is really good! Starting from the fresh baked bread–it’s magical! We started with the calamari and it was the best I have ever had. Not fishy, tender and had the perfect sauce drizzled. The martinis were all good too! I especially loved the pineapple upside down cake martini! I ordered the lobster pasta and it was very good! I rounded out my meal with the tres leches cake and it was absolutely amazing! The service here was amazing and our server was awesome and knowledgeable. Will 100% be back! Best Italian food in a 30 mile radius.

I invited my best friend to dinner. We were traveling and in the area, so we wanted to spend some time together and enjoy a nice meal.

It was a relaxed atmosphere and pleasant surroundings. We were seated right away. Our waitress was Chloe. She was excellent for the entire experience.

Overall, I cannot say enough about the food. Well presented, prepared with care and attention to detail from start to finish. A good balance of seasoning and preparation. Nothing was overcooked.

I had the Veal Marsala. The veal portions were large slices, not small medallions. Served with potatoes and string beans. The veal was very tender, it could easily be cut with a fork.
Our wives had the Veal Parmesan. It was excellent.
My best friend had the lamb chops. They were well seasoned and not overcooked.

For the dessert, we chose the tiramisu. I have to say it was nearly breath-taking. Served with a dollop of whipped cream. It was one of the best I had ever tasted. Exceptionally light and flavorful. Every bite melted in your mouth. You MUST try it.

We enjoyed our experience tonight. I would certainly return to try another dish. As far as value, you get what you pay for. Quality costs.

Excellent overall. Well done!

Me, my partner, and friends dined here valentines eve. First off the food is excellent. I’ve been here several times before and they never disappoint. My dinner and all my dining partner’s dinners were fabulous. Another thing I’d like to point out is the timing of the courses….perfect. our server Chloe was fantastic, excellent server, great demeanor. Highly recommend. Also…… I’m Italian and grew up with the best cooks in the nation! So…I should know.

Valentino’s is a true gem of Lake Orion. The food is very thoughtfully prepared and excellent. The service is great and the location has good parking. This is a frequent spot for us and we love the fried calamari, the sautéed calamari and shrimp as appetizers. The others are very good as well.

All of the pastas we have had are excellent but our favorites are the shrimp diablo, spaghetti and meatballs, and Fruti di Mare.

The eggplant Parmesan is some of the best I have ever had and I get it every time as either an appetizer or entree. The chicken dishes are all excellent as well and the crab stuffed salmon is one of our absolute favorites as well. Portions are all great and it includes salad or soup.

We haven’t done dessert in a long time but people seemed to be enjoying it throughly as well.

Our waitress last night, Sarah, was fantastic and one of the best we have had. Keep it up Valentino’s!

Nicole was so lovely and amazing! We came for an intimate birthday dinner and she added to our overall experience. We will be back! We suggest ending your evening with a cappuccino, flourless chocolate cake and tres leche cake! You’ll need to bring most of your dinner and half of the dessert home, but it’s worth it to experience the two delicacies together. ❤️

Nicole D gave us some of the best service we have received in a very long time. Valentinos has always been great, but she made it even better. 10/10 would recommend.

Nice atmosphere and easy reservation process. Had a night out here that unfortunately was not the best experience. Bread and oil were amazing. Server was very attentive early on. We both ordered the filet. Neither the menu, nor server, commented if anything came with the filet, however it did come with creamy mashed potatoes and asparagus. I would have preferred a different potato option as I am on a strict eating plan, but at least my date could have my potatoes in lieu of her steak. We both ordered the house salad with no tomato or onion (didn’t realize that only lettuce would be left). It would be helpful for the server to comment on these as this was first experience here and the menu does not indicate what is included with the soup/salad options or meal sides.

Steaks were cooked per request. After two bites, my date commented that she did not like the taste of the steak as it was gamey and the texture seemed, off for a steak. Hers was well done and butterflied. Temp was correct – a huge plus. I had her try a bite of mine, not butterflied and she said it was slightly different. I tried a bite of hers and agreed that it tasted different and texture was definitely different. I thought it was maybe veal – who knows. It was not a filet I would get again either.

The server came by and we commented on her steak. She had two bites and I had one. The server said: oh no, I can take it back and tell the chef. She did so, came back and said we took half off her meal. No offer for something else for her to eat and they tossed the steak. She assumed we had been here before and had enjoyed the filet before and I corrected that this was our first experience. Then she offered a dessert on the house for her. We quickly requested the bill, paid for my meal and half hers and I took her to get dinner somewhere else as she still needed to eat.

I’ve never ever seen her turn down a filet, unless it wasn’t well done. I was not pleased with how the situation was handled at an establishment like this. Doubtful we will be back, but maybe the other dishes would be ok. It would seem that a visit from the manager, and an offer to get a pasta dish, or something she could eat, would have been appropriate. It was odd to be charged for half her meal as opposed to not charging. I have taken the time to detail out our experience. I searched reviews ahead of time and most were extremely positive. I was excited to try Valentino’s and see if it offered us another option for a nicer meal in Oxford/Lake Orion. I hope these suggestions are taken to heart, although I am not sure we will try again. Certainly will not come back for the steak.

Great place and perfect location with ample parking and play ground next door. Server was Jodi and she was fantastic with our family of 6 including 2 small children. She took her time with us and helped with the menus selections. The food was hot and prepared with care. Presentation was also great as were the portions. Over all great night . Thank You !

Turned away at the door—apparently we stumbled into Valentino’s exclusive Invisible Reservation Club. We arrived on a Tuesday just after 5:00pm, when the dining room was a bustling 2–3 tables deep and roughly half a dozen front-of-house staff were energetically perfecting the art of looking busy. As our party of five stood patiently at the door, we were reassured no fewer than three times that “someone will be with you in a moment.” A moment, it turns out, is a very flexible concept.

Eventually, someone who seemed manager-adjacent appeared and asked if we had a reservation. We did not. (Important detail: the dining room was about 95% empty.) We were then informed there would be a 45–60 minute wait because the restaurant was “fully booked” at 6:00pm. For whom? Ghosts? Future diners from another timeline?

Restaurants are usually in the service industry, but Valentino’s seems to be experimenting with a bold new model: actively preventing people from eating. Innovative, but not for us. We will not be back—ever.
