The In Between Tavern is exactly what a great neighborhood bar should be—fun, welcoming, and full of character. Open since 1969, this longtime Cincinnati staple has clearly perfected the art of bringing people together.

It’s an ideal spot for pregame gatherings before a Cincinnati Reds or Bengals game, or for grabbing a drink after a show at the Taft Theatre. The location makes it easy, and the vibe makes you want to stay longer than planned.

A special shoutout to Adam, the manager, who was absolutely fantastic. He was welcoming, respectful, and genuinely friendly—setting the tone for a great night from the moment we walked in. The Friday night crowd was eclectic and lively, with a mix of ages—from young to not-so-young—all enjoying themselves and sharing the same easygoing energy.

The In Between Tavern isn’t trying to be trendy—it’s busy being timeless. If you’re looking for a place with history, personality, and a guaranteed good time, this is one stop you don’t want to skip.

Stopped by after work for a drink. 4:15 ish. Only a three options on draft. Stella, blue moon, and something else. Asked if they had any snacks, chips pretzels, etc. But nope. The were waiting for the cook to arrive before they could start offering food.

The draft also ended up being full price. Now I didn’t go looking for a happy hour discount but a little surprised there wasn’t one to try and draw in more business.

I’d go back if I was desperate for a drink after work and didn’t have other options.

Fun vibe!! The wings were fatty and tough but fine. Tenders were ok as well. The fries were probably my favorite!

Came here last night with a couple friends before the Cyclones game. Right away we were treated pretty poorly by the female bartender. When we sat down and were talking and deciding what and how we wanted to order, she asked from across the bar “so are you guys gonna order anything or what?”. We hadn’t even been sitting down for 5 minutes. I had every intention of walking up to the bar when we were ready to order. We ordered 2 orders of tenders and fries, loaded tots, fried pickles, and a round of drinks. Then, I wanted to order another round before happy hour ended at 7. Granted it was 6:58 but in my experience bar staff are usually 100% okay ringing in an order before the drinks are made to get the happy hour discount. Which is then usually reflected in the tip. She argued with me about it then acted like there was nothing she could do when she rang it up normal price. Finally, when I wanted to close my tab, she mad direct eye contact with me and proceeded to ignore me. When I politely said I just wanted to close my tab, she said “yeah me too” then kept walking to another patron at the bar. This was a really unfriendly experience and I won’t be back.

I wanted to like this place so badly as I love local dives and this seemed to have that vibe from the outside. We went in September (it was unseasonably hot outside) but after walking there, we were very surprised for it to be STIFILINGLY hot inside. Beer was cold which was good but didn’t stay cold long even in a koozie. Can’t speak for food as we were too hot to stay for more than one drink.

Great place! Inside is wonderfully decorated, inviting atmosphere, the entire areas and bathrooms are clean and hygienic. There are surrounding parking meters and parking lots. Easy accessibility. Sits right on the corner, directly across from Great American Ballpark and catty corner from Heritage Bank Center. Beautiful outdoor patio. Very affordable menu and super friendly staff!

We had lunch I had a riverfront Burger with chips and my son had a beer cheese and bacon burger. Both doubles smash burgers and they were delicious. Very fresh ingredients and I would definitely eat there again and recommend eating dinner.

This sports bar and grill is a great alternative to the regular Banks bars and has the best food in my opinion.

Lots of TVs throughout. It has two large bars, a lounge room with couches, and a dining room, but you can eat at the bar or any table. It also has a large outdoor patio.

It’s two blocks from the Reds ballpark.

Ordered tater tots and took and hour to get them in an empty bar and then went to the restroom with food on my plate still and when I came back the food was thrown away and when I asked where the food was the manager proceeded to lie and say my friend ate the rest of my food. I was not looking for an argument but the manager continued to raise his voice at me and kicked me out of the bar for simply asking why they threw the food that I had payed for an waited an hour away. Disappointed in the service, but our bartender was a sweet lady but the manager was rude and should not be working in the service industry

Great bar. Wings are always fresh and piping hot, delicious sauces especially the bourbon bbq. The other food items are great too. Cheap buckets of beer are a plus
