I was having a craving for a Mojarra Frita and ran across this location on Google. Arrived on a Saturday around 4 p.m.-ish and it was a very slow day (due to recent events starting that day in particular in the city) none the less we were seated immediately and our waitor was super friendly and efficient. We got an order of Margarittas, shots and regular drinking water. You get a gree ceviche platter eith about 3 tostadas to start of with. Ordered a few options including the Mojarra, steak, veggies fajitas with French fries, rice and salads. Plenty to go around and share amongst everyone. Everything honestly was very tasty and delicious. Nothing was under or overcooked. All items arrived correctly with no issues. Overall the ambiance inside was lively as they had a Mariachi Band playing live and it was honestly what we needed on such a hard day going on in Charlotte, NC. I will say, this is more on the pricier side of things. For 3 adults and 1 kid it was about $200ish but we did order a lot of drinks so that of course adds up. Either way it was worth it for us since the food was great, ambiance and service was terrific. Definetly recommend this location and planning to return and try other dishes. They do have a parking lot with plenty of spaces to choose from.

We had an incredible meal with a group of 20+! A huge menu with every seafood option you can imagine. The service from Natalia and Doris was phenomenal. An excellent spot in East Charlotte for large groups or intimate dinners celebrating special occasions.

– The food was delicious. Everything tasted fresh. Chimichanga was good rice and the al Pastor tacos were yummy.
– The meal was a little expensive for Mexican and considering where it is located on albemarle rd.
– We had a party of 2 and they added the tip to the bill. 15%. I probably would have tipped more if they didn’t do this. My only issue is that the server knew they were adding the tip so she did nothing extra. She came took our drink orders. Came back 10 mins later, delivered drinks, came back 5 mins later to take our order then came to deliver the food and take the payment when we were done. Not once did she check on us or ask if we needed anything else. I think this is due to them already knowing they’ve included the tip. Just bad business and not good service. Although the food was good, I’d be surprised if we ever go back. Kind of reminded me of Azteca in Matthews. Nickel and dime you with sub par service. Rating closer to 3.8 stars.

Great food, everything was delicious and fresh made, we enjoyed the drinks as well. It took a bit longer than expected for the food to come out but it was completely worth it. My kids and my wife enjoyed so much, we definitely recommend it to friends and family and for sure we will be back.

I got a tip about Mariscos Nayarit, a newer Mexican seafood spot off East W.T. Harris and Albemarle, and I’m glad I checked it out. I was invited in by Pedro, the manager, and while my meal was hosted, these thoughts are my own. Staff was well-compensated and the food delivered.

Inside is bright and full of ocean-themed murals, greenery, and upbeat Latin music. The menu is huge, with photos for every item, which made ordering easy without needing to Google anything.

I started with chips, salsa, and queso. All solid. The Ribeye Brasas was next: steak and zarandeado shrimp with grilled veggies and a surprisingly great baked potato. The inside was mashed, creamy, and loaded with bacon and sour cream. The steak was seared perfectly and the shrimp had that smoky open-fire flavor.

They also brought out a wild dish called the “Tendedero” — steak, corn on the cob, shrimp clipped to a clothesline, and a seafood stew served in a flaming cast iron bowl with clams, mussels, shrimp, calamari, and more. It was dramatic, flavorful, and a lot of fun.

I don’t drink, but they showed me their over-the-top cocktails. One came in a glowing hippo bowl with a rubber duck. Another was served in a purse. There was also a piña colada so tall it needed a lifeguard. I passed them to other guests who were more than happy to enjoy them. If you miss the flavor of spring break in Cancun, this is your vibe.

Servers may speak limited English, so bring a translator app. Think of it like a real-life Duolingo session. The reward is great seafood.

Fun atmosphere, kind staff, and big portions. Definitely one of my new favorite full-service Mexican restaurants in Charlotte. I’ll be back.

Who else got robbed by overly expensive fish from this place? We need a support group #1 No one here speaks English. #2 price on the menu is not what you get on your recipient.
We ordered what we thought was the $20ish fish but when the bill came, it was $67 and $58. The servers did not speak any English so couldn’t explain to us why. Let’s just say we will not be returning to this place again.

I have been here twice before. I came looking for the same great experience I had. I wasn’t disappointed. Food was delicious and fresh. Excelent service and great ambience. It’s not a bargain but worth every penny.

Last month my husband and I were visiting Charlotte for a job conference and decided to go out and have dinner here. I don’t know if it was due to it being a week night, but the place was almost empty except for two other tables and a couple men at the bar. Long story short I ordered “camarones empanizados.” They were not good at all! Both the fries and shrimp were too greasy and tasted like they’ve been fried in old oil. My husband ordered “pescado sarandeado” and it was dry not enough sauce and it had a black substance in the middle. All this to say the meal ended up costing $130 for these two entrees and two drinks! I was very disappointed and will never go back. I have been to great quality steak houses before no comparison to this and have paid way less.
