We came through on a Sunday night for a late dinner after coming back from LAX and found this place as one of the only things open late. The place had a nice vibe to it as there were lots of lights and the music was bumpin’. It seemed like it would be a cool date night spot. Since it was late on a Sunday night, the place was pretty dead, and therefore, we had the entire place to ourselves. Overall it was a superb Chinese barbecue experience. The food was great, particularly the noodle dish and the chicken rack. The flavors were top notch. Everything had an aroma as if they just came out of the smoker which is a bit different than other Chinese bbq places. Even though there was only one staff person on site it seemed, she was attentive to our needs and food came out relatively quickly. We spotted some terrible reviews on Yelp for this spot, but we didn’t find anything wrong. I’d definitely come back to try out the other items and order another chicken rack.

I’d heard about this place — Student Days Rice Noodles & BBQ — from my Northeastern “laotie” friends a long time ago, and finally had time to check it out this weekend! The vibe inside totally feels like those “after-school hangouts” with your best friends — sitting around the table, laughing while eating. The aroma of the hot rice noodle soup, the cumin from the skewers, and that plate of sweet-and-sour pork — it’s exactly what youth should taste like! ✨

The aroma of cumin and charcoal fills the air — lamb, beef, chicken wings… all grilled to perfection, crispy on the outside and juicy inside.
Each skewer brings you right back to those student days when your lips were shiny with oil, but you just couldn’t stop eating!

Had a Saturday dinner here, owner is super super friendly and skewers are AMAZING, my fav has to be their pan fried pork, literally top 3 I had in LA. So crunchy and fluffy and the sweet sour sauce is A1. Tiger style veg mix is another hit for me, so vinegary and refreshing. Strongly recommended!!!!!

We visited this restaurant for dinner, and there wasn’t a single customer inside when we arrived. That honestly made us a bit hesitant, but we decided to give it a try anyway.
Right after we placed our order, the owner insisted that the food we ordered wouldn’t be enough for six people and kept pushing us to add more dishes. We were two adults and four kids, and two of the children don’t eat much at all. We explained that we would try the food first and order more if needed, but she repeatedly said their clay pot portions were very small and definitely not enough.
Shortly after, she came back again and told us that because we were a group of six, there would be a mandatory 20% tip for dine-in, and suggested we should just take the food to go instead. We found this unreasonable and uncomfortable.
Combined with the empty and unwelcoming atmosphere, this was not a pleasant experience. We definitely won’t be coming back.

If I wanted to be treated with this much contempt, I’d have stayed home and talked to my ex. The service wasn’t just ‘bad’; it was an active insult to hospitality. The staff moved with the urgency of a sloth on tranquilizers and had the charm of a wet rug. Don’t let the Renote photos fool you—the only thing they’re serving here is audacity.

A masterclass in how to ruin a business. The staff treats customers like an inconvenience rather than a priority. Toxic atmosphere, arrogant service, and a complete lack of basic manners. Renote lied; save your money and your sanity. I wouldn’t come back if the meal was free and gold-plated

We didn’t even get to eat. After placing our order, we were told it was “not enough” (I didn’t realize two dishes could be considered insufficient for two people) and that we could only do takeout or leave. we were literally told that we could “leave” if we didn’t order more.
If there is a minimum order policy, it should be stated clearly before seating guests. Felt like a complete waste of our time. Extremely rude and unwelcoming.
The restaurant’s response here only reinforces that impression.

It was my first time encountering a place like this. If you don’t order enough, they won’t let you dine in — only takeout is allowed. They also force you to pay a mandatory tip, regardless of whether any service was actually provided. And on top of that, there’s always the risk of being filmed and exposed. The more I think about it, the scarier it feels. Definitely a place to avoid.

Honestly hilarious. Two of us went in, not too hungry, and just wanted to share ONE rice noddle meal that’s the only thing we wanted. The staff told us we couldn’t share if dining in—only takeout because they said we have two persons. When I asked why, the answer was literally: “No reason.” Such a ridiculous policy. If they don’t want customers, no problem—wish them plenty of “quiet business.” We’re definitely not coming back.
