I was craving doubles so I thought I would try this place since I couldn’t get to my normal spot Sarah’s in Orange NJ. My order was placed on Doordash for two doubles….when it arrived I was so excited until the bag was placed in my hands and I noticed how light the bag was. I opened the bag to find two really thin doubles basically all dough little filling. I of course ate them because I just paid 13 bucks for a $5 meal. The taste was not disappointing at all the were actually really good but as you can see in my pictures there were really no filling. I will not be spending my money there anymore for that reason. I feel as if they made them that way because I was not there in person and that’s definitely bad for business.

Just picked up some doubles from here because I was craving doubles and they were terrible. Low-key mad I wasted my lunch time and money. There’s a spot in Newark on Halsey and their doubles are a thousand times better than this place. Skip this please keep driving straight down Communipaw into Newark and get you some good food. I wish I would of read the comments before stopping there. I like to support small businesses, I hope this business actually listens to thecustomer feedbacks and do some improvements, maybe get a better chef/cook or they’ll be closing soon.

My 4 years old daughter and myself love Taste Of The Caribbean food. They doubles and aloo pies are off the hook! so delicious and full of tasty flavors! They sell the best doubles and aloo pies in New Jersey and New York. They curries are delicious and seasoned to perfection. They dhal puri and rotie is so soft, and tasty. The owner is very nice and friendly and customer service is excellent. Very friendly and nice people. I love they food ❤️❤️❤️❤️

My Trini husband and I were so excited to have Trini food so far away from home .. but what a disappointment. Meet was not seasoned properly and had very poor taste.. service is nice .. but they need to improve the taste..

If you live in New Jersey you don’t have to go Queens, doubles truck or Trinidad for delicious doubles they have the best tasting doubles and Caribbean food right here at Taste of the Caribbean .

O Lord! Food was SO bad. Got curry goat, curry chicken and roti skins. I’ve never cooked curry in my life but I bet ya I can cook way better than this. Spent $77 on my order and most of it I had to throw away. Auntie at the counter was so nice but can’t cook for nothing. How is this place even in business?

I really enjoyed the curry goat with roti. It was seasoned to perfection and the goat was very tender and tasty but did have a few fatty pieces (but that’s to be expected). I was able to pick up some Trinidadian treats also (pepper red plums and sweet red mango) that I can’t wait to enjoy later today. I’ll be back for visit soon!

I have a craving for Roti August 4, 2025. And since I live in Jersey City I did a search and this establishment popped up I said to myself “I remember this place” years ago 7 8 years it’s been awhile, I ordered some roti skins I forget the number but I was traveling with them to Maryland for family. Not less than five not more than 10.
I had a rented car I had to take back to Newark New Jersey airport and I was running behind. I made the order via telephone I made sure to keep the gentleman in the loop as I was running behind schedule but I kept him in the loop and he said fine not a problem come on by.
I got to the store and I said to him I’m here to pick up my roti skins sorry I’m late but traffic but as you know I kept you in the loop.
This man had to be the father I believe it’s a family-owned restaurant treated me like a child and ushered me out of his restaurant.
This was way way before Google reviews. back then I said I would never walk into that restaurant again. I have a craving for roti I’m going to Brooklyn next week I’ll pick up my roti then. I can’t tell you how the food taste The atmosphere is a walking store. But the service was crap.

Hidden food gem in Jersey City NJ I was in the mood for some good tasting West Indian food and I found it surprisingly in NJ not in Brooklyn or Queens the curry Goat was a straight Situation definitely recommend it they also have a lot more dishes and options to satisfy your West Indian craving..
