8/3/24 update- this used to be a gem we would travel several hours out of the way to make sure and hit. And apparently it has new owners, the food is completely different. While it’s good, it’s definitely not what it used to be. We won’t be going out of the way again, sad bc we look forward to this stop every year. Friendly waitress but came for the food.

Ok, for starters this isn’t a super fancy place, but that’s perfectly ok, what they do well is make good food. We got a few things and everything was a hit, for small town America I was very shocked to find this gem. Good portions, food was fresh, light breading and crispy, not drenched in batter. Honestly couldn’t ask for a better meal, and the waitress was great. 5 stars for sure…

While traveling from Colorado, this is a must stop and try restaurant in Holyoake, just a short drive from southwestern Nebraska, is First Dragon.
The food was hot and very delicious. The server was polite and engaging. The interior is simple and not over done. The food is the main reason you eat here. The ding room is large (they have 2)
and one thing I noticed that EVERY table had a bottle of sanitizer. I urge you to support this small and extremely good and reasonably priced food!

Start to finish, a terrible dining experience. Inattentive, forgotten, unfriendly, zero customer service. Had to hunt down utensils, napkins, chili sauce – forget drinks or desert. Got our own take home box. Food was bland and processed. Overall a very disappointing Fathers Day meal. There was water damaged times about e us and I became so congested I couldn’t breathe by the time we left due to mold allergies. Steer clear.

The new owner deserve a try
They are so nice and welcoming Before these new owners I couldn’t really eat the food there because it would hurt my stomach really bad. But now I enjoy every bit of it. It’s DELICIOUS

We ordered the Sweet and Sour Combination, Shrimp with Broccoli, Cheese Wontons and Mongolian Beef. First off the amount of food that was given on the to go order was way less than it used to be and I was not aware that there had been a management change. The food was practically inedible. Everything was over fried and hard as a rock. The Mongolian Beef has so much black pepper now, it got thrown in the trash because it was overpowering. The Sweet and Sour Combination was hard and flavorless, the Shrimp with Broccoli used to be in a white sauce, now it is in a brown sauce, so no longer gluten-free. The Cheese Wontons were also over fried and hard. The rice tasted more like microwaved rice, rather than steamed. For almost $75 I expected a lot better and will not be wasting the money again. Great service though.

Contrary to the one of the other reviews, our group of six people were more than happy with the service, as well as the quality and quantity of food delivered quickly. The waitress was excellent and very personable.

What a delight to find this little treasure in the small eastern Colorado town of Holyoak.

Friendly and efficient service, the place was neat and clean and smelled wonderful. Oh, did I mention the food? Hubby had Kung Pao shrimp and I had Hunan shrimp. It was delicious! Huge shrimp and the veggies were Stir fried perfectly, crisp and tasty!

If you ever find yourself in this area, make sure to give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.
