I have always loved Not Just Pie. Their new location is perfect. We recently visited family in north Louisiana for Thanksgiving. Knowing we had to go to Monroe—i was dreaming of having a slice of their banana caramel pie. Literally dreaming of it! It was a huge heartbreaking disappointment to find out that they were completely out. I didn’t realize i had to order one in advance during the Thanksgiving holiday. You live and learn. Had a piece of their strawberry cream pie. It was delicious but Im still dreaming of that banana caramel cream pie. Oh yeah….the food is great too!

Recently stopped based on reviews. The sandwiches and poboys were good, the slice of pie was very good. The problems were accuracy, timeliness, and price. We asked for some of the sandwiches to be toasted and they weren’t. We waited 20 minutes (with no other customers waiting for food) for four cold sandwiches. And in the end the four sandwiches and slice of pie was $80.

Pie was amazing and will definitely be going back.

Not blown away by the turkey sandwich on wheat as it was good but mediocre. I’d expect more for the cost of it with Swiss cheese, guacamole, sprouts and a gourmet sauce on a toasted pita or wheat.

Very friendly and courteous service.

Curb appeal could use some work as it’s easy to miss but this spot definitely is a diamond in the rough.

Oh my goodness – eating their pies is like experiencing a little piece of heaven! The customer service is top notch and the place itself is spotless clean! This is a MUST stop and be sure to take a pie home with you.

The service was great! It was my first time there, our waiter was super friendly and knowledge of the menu. I got the club which was HUGE. The portions are big enough to split. My coworker and I did wise up and split a slice of amazing strawberry pie before we left out. This is a nice hidden gem in Monroe. It’s a favorite of locals.

Up to Upper 18th for dessert! Family friendly establishment! I could tell that by the families I saw seated around tables and enjoying the fare for the day. One large group was having a ball, and there were several smaller family units. Couples. Saw newborns to grandmas! Perfect! But even with the sounds of conversation and laughter, as I walked through the entrance, I was able to hear a pleasant voice saying,” Welcome to Not Just Pies.” Looked up and saw the lovliest smile from a staff member whose post was near the door. How very, very nice! Like knowledge and prayer, a kindness is never lost.

Now, let’s talk food! The name says it all. NJP has a full menu that looked quite tempting. Plus, I could see a bit of the selections that had been made by those dining in. Looked delectable! And on the counter were three chocolate sheet cakes. One with nuts mixed into the frosting! Oh my! But, having had a late breakfast, I set my boundaries and ordered just pie—their choice!

I was served a large slice of the most delicious apple pie, still warm from the oven. The apples were slightly tart and balanced with just the right amount of sweet. And the crust rose to the level of the filling. Firm and flakey on the bottom, and layered around the edges. The lattice top was a gleaming golden brown. As I allowed my fork to gently pull away the layered edges, I thought: Move over Martha Stewart!

The pie had been boxed to go. So after savoring about two or three initial bites in the car, I closed the box and headed to the Downtown Riverfront…. to finish my treat while watching the waters of the Ouachita. A most enjoyable Saturday mid-morning adventure!

I never leave reviews but felt I needed to leave one. Staff is nice enough. Pies are absolutely wonderful and worth the price! However, the food is not worth the price. My husband and I recently went with our 2 toddlers. We ordered 2 grilled cheeses, a BLT and a turkey and Swiss sandwich. The grilled cheeses were a small amount of shredded cheddar between two pieces of grilled wheat bread. Those were $11 each. My turkey sandwich had 2 pieces of thin deli meat and a few pieces of SHREDDED SWISS from a bag….. not even a slice of Swiss…. Just a few shreds of cheese. In a styrofoam cup I got a few pieces of shredded lettuce and ONE tiny tomato slice. The bread was toasted and dry. All you could taste was the bread. That was $12. My husbands BLT had one slice of bacon, some shreds of lettuce and one little tomato slice. All sandwiches were served with generic Lays chips. We had water (free thank goodness) and 2 slices of pie. Our total was $90. NINETY. I was shocked. Definitely not worth the price for the tiny, mediocre servings. I could’ve made a better sandwich at home for 1/4 the price. Not impressed at all. You’re better off going to chick fil a and picking up a slice of pie on your way home. Be warned- their food is not worth the price. Save your money!

TWENTY-SEVEN DOLLARS FOR A PIE? That was my initial thought Saturday as I finally decided to purchase a chicken pot pie at East Beach Farmer’s Market . Then I thought, Well I’ve spent more on less I’m sure it won’t be bad.
Now after feeding three of us for 2 dinners and lunch for me, my only regret is I have passed by their booth so many times and only now trying a savory pie!
Literally like Mom would make (I mean if your Mom make delicious pot pies like mine does)! Flakey crust (but not too flakey) HUGE chunks of real chicken, veggies and whatever delicious secret sauce was in there binding it all together!
Check them out next time you are at a local market or check out their IG page to order (they deliver too!).
And back to the cost…if you average that out per person per meal you’re looking at less than a value meal at a fastfood joint for a homemade from scratch pie!

The staff were friendly. But the prices are outrageous for what you get. I got a turkey with Swiss and bacon. It looked like a sandwich I could make at home. With tax I payed $15. It also came with chips that could have been off brand. A can soda was &3.50. I was greatly disappointed and will not go back.

Prices have greatly increased. Small chicken pot pie was $16. Slice of pie $10. Drinks $3.50. 4% charge if you don’t pay cash. So around $40 with tax and 20 to 25% gratuity. But the place was very crowded so much so that it was slow service, so I assume that a lot of people don’t mind paying $$$ for a small meal in a diner atmosphere. The food was tasty but not extraordinary.
