Ive never been to a better bakery de Mexico! Poteau is extremely lucky to have this gem. The owner bakes everything himself… every morning, and he does it with love. The guy learned his craft from his uncle, working in his uncle’s bakery in Mexico since he was 8. And literally, the prices are unbelievable. Im in town for a week from California, visiting my kin. Where I come from, these Mexican pastries would cost at least 5 times as much, if you could find them.
Some enterprising kid here in town should go partner with that guy, make some t-shirts and a sign and a website. El Paisano Bakery should be world famous.

Have y’all tried this bakery yet? If not, you need to! So yummy, inexpensive and the people are super friendly! I just found them yesterday and I’m so glad I did! I bought a hot ham and cheese empanada, a Bavarian cream empanada and a strawberry and cream cheese type cake. They had lots more too!
