When we roll through Warren, the Baum Shelter is a must. They have some of the best finger steaks around; crispy, hot, and done right. After a full day of riding, this is exactly the kind of meal you want.
It’s a classic stop with great food and a laid-back feel, making it the perfect way to wrap up a trip through the area. Baum Shelter is one of those places that keeps us coming back every time we’re in Warren.

Arrived here on snowmobiles in early January and made this our turn around point, 45 miles from the Wallis trailhead, but not before a cold craft beer! The hostess was super friendly and we enjoyed some great conversation with her as we rested up and warmed up before the return trip back to McCall. The mining town looks super interesting to explore if we’d had more time, and we’re already planning a summer return. Worth the ride in the winter though, for sure!

Rented a cabin last week. The food was great, as well as the ambience, but nothing compared to the people, they are the kindest, most generous people you could ever meet. Makes you feel like home when you’re as far away as you could be from it.

We came here to stop and eat during our snowmobiling trip. It was great! The inside was warm and cozy, a perfect place to stop by and take a break. The food was really good and home cooked, the people running it are really nice and make sure you have a good experience there. It’s very homey, I loved it. The decorations inside were very cute and antique.

Great food great people and an amazing place to visit on a snowmobile! I was so excited to eat my BLT when I saw it I didn’t even take a picture to share how great it looked and portion sizes are great. Go see these folks and get some food you won’t regret the adventure!!

6 People and 3 Dogs surrounded by snow and ice…a little slice of paradise and some fantastic company. Where else can you ride up on a snowmobile and have a pup greet you and escort you to the door? Not to mention the delicious fingersteaks and the breakfast the next morning(which they went out of their way to make for our group) Daizydoo aka Lunkalove, Yukon, and Ranger…will truly be one of my favorite memories from my trip to Idaho.

We were tourists and found the food ample and good. I had the homemade Hungarian soup. I am not Hungarian nor is the cook, but it was excellent soup. The other 6 in my party were pleased with their dishes. The two ladies cooking and waiting on us were friendly and engaging. Any tourist to Warren should stop by, if not for breakfast, lunch or dinner, at least for a soda or cup of coffee

Warren is an amazing place, a must-go if you are nearby. Which is virtually nowhere, as nothing is nearby. Well, let’s say the 45 miles McCall could be called “nearby”. Last 15 or 20 miles are on gravel, but keep strong – even you don’t believe at some point that the Warren is there, I can confirm it is there at the end of the road.
The Baum Shelter is great and friendly place, bar like from western movie and certainly worth of the trip. Ice cold beer in the middle of nowhere – keep your smile and enjoy :-).
