Hoping to have the tacos next time
We both said no big deal we can just return them back to this place, uneaten, untouched and get a refund and at least keep the fries. Little did I know that is when our experience at this place took a turn for the worst. We returned, Abby was at the stand. I explained the situation, she went to go get the manager. ( we actually briefly came into contact with the manager unbeknownst to us as we grabbed our to go food a few moments earlier, she seemed nice at first. )
This time around however she did not introduce her self to us as the manager once she walked up to the hostess area, there was a pause and staring to which I then just asked oh are you the manager? she says yes, I explained the situation respectfully, calmly, to the point and she went on a tangent of explaining taco food portions, tortilla sizes, and that all the other local spots do the same portion sizes, said there was nothing she could do, and that in all her 7 years she’s never got a complaint like this before to which I tried to reassure her we aren’t trying to complain towards the restaurant or to be difficult , but that we just didn’t expect the portion sizes we got, she never asked us if we ate any of the food, while I was right there holding the to go bag in my hand that she saw me with earlier when we left. She made a statement saying that she can’t be in my head to know what I am thinking in regards to me explaining the matter, basically making me feel like how dare I or how ridiculous it is of me to be coming back explaining this to get a refund or to belittle the situation. She was extremely passive aggressive and then touched my shoulder and hand while denying us the refund which made me uncomfortable being touched by a stranger l don’t even know at all, you never just touch people without consent or assume it is okay, especially customers. She then proceeded to write on a set of matches for us to bring in next time to show to her to get a discount off of food there.
I went back to the car with my boyfriend and talked about the what just happened, then soon walked back to give another waiter the food back, refund or no, given what I had just experienced along side my partner, I felt uncomfortable, talked down to and disregarded in a matter of minutes. My boyfriend went back a third time without me to go return the discount matches offer she gave us since him and I, nor our family will be coming back to this place ever again after that. He came back to the car and said he spotted Abby again, talked to her about our manager encounter, Abby said that the manager tried to find us after we dropped the tacos off and stated she didn’t know we didn’t eat or touch the tacos to which He told her , you never asked and I didn’t appreciate the way you spoke to my partner (me). She gave a half baked apology to him saying sorry but you guys didn’t tell me we didn’t eat the tacos trying to put some of the fault of what just happened on us still, while proceeding with the refund.
Abby is top notch! but the whole situation left us disgusted in how it was handled by the manager. All this over $23 tacos, all this for a refund, why?
Maybe the alcohol is good, didn’t get to try it. Staff seemed fun, but the waiter running around talking like a sailor was a little unprofessional, even if it was a low volume time of day.
Really good happy hour deal on drinks too.
Oh and dinner for 4 was $500+
My first time I had guacamole(accident) all over my hair and back but like I said it was an accident. The waitress apologized and I was more than understanding.
The second time I came and I got sits with in seconds the host was a little serious but when she sat us she was very nice, we got our food and we left super happy, for some reason loved the shrimp tacos….I was very surprised, the atmosphere was great the restaurant is more like for a younger crowd, butI saw everyone, from singles people to families to couples from every orientation.
We left really happy and tipsy.
So yes I will come back and I do recommend to visit and enjoy this restaurant.
