We visited Sage and Vine for a meal last night and I can honestly say, it was the best pizza I’ve ever had! And that’s coming from a certified piglet who has had many pizzas in their lifetime.
We ordered 3 small plates to share as a starter – croquettes, patatas bravas and ham hock. They were all delicious and fairly ample for small plates.
We both ordered burrata pizza which as I said, was spectacular with great quality toppings and a fluffy crust.
The service and atmosphere was lovely as well. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will come again should I ever find myself back in Carlisle.

Had a lovely meal here the other day. The staff were absolutely lovely and spent ages explaining the menu for us. Nothing was too much trouble! The food was lovely and reasonably priced, although all of us agreed it could have been a little bit more seasoned and flavourful. However we still really enjoyed it and would come back again.

We had no booking but they squeezed us in, little one in tow and the staff were lovely about it. The pricing was great, the presentation was amazing. Excellent flavour combinations and top notch food. The calamari was overdone, (although that might be a UK thing, I’ve found every seafood meal here to be over), but everything else was phenomenal.

We had a very nice dinner with friends here last night, the waitresses were very friendly and informative, and we ended up ordered a charcuterie board to share (only thing I’d say is we wanted more cheese because we’re all cheese mad haha!)
We then we all shared about 2-3 tapas dishes (the halloumi fries, beef and chorizo dishes were the best!) we also enjoyed a bottle of English Brut from Harlot (very tasty!) the restaurant is well decorated and not too crowded with tables, it felt really comfortable and we enjoyed sitting enjoying time spent with friends over good food!
We also ended up ordering a pizza but didn’t need it during our main meal thanks to the big portions of the tapas dishes, so the waitress was very helpful and put it in a takeout box – so we enjoyed it today and it was lovely!

The BEST pizza in Carlisle. For a long time I’ve wanted a really good pizza in Carlisle, and now look no further.
The use of local ingredients was great to see, the flavours amazing and the dough just perfect.
Also nice to have Jubel beer on draught and a lovely malbec recommended by the friendly staff.
We sat up near the bar and were a able to see straight into the fire if the pizza oven that faces into the the restaurant.
The desserts on the board were very temp too but having also enjoyed a cheeky crab bonbon (also delicious) we didn’t have any room.
I will without doubt be back.

This restaurant is excellent. The food is amazing, but what makes this establishment stand out is the exceptional service. The staff are very attentive and go to great lengths to explain the menu and answer any questions that you may have.
We had travelled to Carlisle by train from Kendal, having booked a table for four. It was well worth the trip and the restaurant did not disappoint.

A lovely restaurant, convenient located by the train station.
A great selection of delicious tapas and then pizza. And a good selection of drinks.

Called in for a quick lunch. Everything was superb. We had the veg sharing platter and everything on it was delicious. Even the Italian lager on draught was great! Prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food.
Will definitely be back.
