Been coming here for a little over 2 years and the last few times , the food has been very subpar and it looks like it got more expensive. Paid $15.26 for this steak torta and the steak is tough to chew. Especially when half of it is just the fat & nerves of the cow. Never coming back after this. Not worth the money.

Update: Since my last review, the food has been awesome and we’ve had no complaints. We always appreciate the fast turnaround time for food and love that they have a drive through!
My husband and I went there tonight and my food was fine but my husbands chicken torta was terrible. When he usually gets a chicken torta it’s cut up chicken with sour cream, tomato, lettuce, beans and guacamole. Tonight he got something that is completely different and it barely had any chicken and was very dry, no beans no guacamole and barely any other toppings, see photos. He was literally struggling to eat it because the chicken was so thin and dry. It really seems to be hit or miss, if it’s a new cook working who doesn’t know the standard way then good luck. I love Taco express most days, but tonight was bad with this dry (chicken?) torta. Hope they get the cooks to make the same thing for every menu item. He won’t be getting a chicken torta again, which is sad because every other time he’s loved it.

This place is solid for for a quick bite of Mexican food. There is a lot of Mexican restaurants in the area but this is only one of two that I know of that has a drive through which makes it so much more convenient when you just want to pick up food quick. The steak tacos are seasoned well and I love that they give you a handful of tortilla chips with the taco dinner. I also like that they automatically give you sour cream, most places you have to ask for it and get charged extra. The rice and beans are good too. The other thing I really love is their tortillas. Some of the best I’ve ever had. The person in the drive through is always friendly and the service is fast. I would definitely recommend this place.

Tacos & burritos were definitely delicious. We got steak on both, although I’m not a big fan of fat in my food. I undertand steak has fat on it and it’s hard to cut out every piece. I will give them another try. I also got some chips on top of my beans.

We dined in! Had our pick of spot in the whole restaurant! Chips were fresh, and the salsas were delightfully spicy. The flautas I ordered were very good, my beans needed salt but that’s not a deal breaker, haha. The rice was delicious, and our waitress was attentive and kind. Thanks for a great lunch!

Excellent food, good-sized portions, and reasonably priced. More than taco and burrito options; although they are great choices, too. Most steak dinner options are under $20 and come with rice and beans, and usually some vegetable. The kid’s menu also has decent portions with rice and beans. Beverages include Coke products, horchata, and selection of Jarritos. Good place if you are not in a rush, or don’t want to be rushed. Service is pleasant but not overly attentive. You may have to go to the counter to make requests or ask for the bill, but it’s mostly due to the nature of the restaurant: a fair amount of take-out orders or people who are there for a leisurely meal. It has never been due to rude or inconsiderate service. Quite the opposite. You get the feeling that you are at home. Settle in, eat some tasty, well priced food and relax! Completely casual and a great place to bring the family for dinner.

It is my favorite Mexican food place, the girls are courteous and friendly always. The restaurant is clean. I have been ordering out for almost 5 years now and lately I have dined in too. Their prices are better then Los Fernandez! Flauta and Chicken Enchiladas dinners are my 2 favorite dishes

For reference, I have never in my life written a review. This place was so god awful for $40. I just felt compelled to let everybody know not to waste any of their money here despite the what seems to be mixed reviews on this place. it is absolutely atrocious and there’s no possible way that they’re going to remain in business for the next five years. I ordered a burrito, 2 tacos and a quesadilla. I think that when it comes to bad food, you can either say that it was a disappointment or it was a let down. This was a let down meaning that you take the first bite you look at the presentation of the food can you imagine OK this is gonna be pretty good. That first bite was not too bad. What else does the food have to offer and then you continue to eat the burrito or a taco or whatever you ordered And you find that the ingredients are not added or cooked in a way that are synchronous with the entire dish. I took one bite, expecting it to be good, and I continued eating out of disbelief that it never got better. I do in fact believe that they may have potential although it’s going to take some serious reconsideration with the kitchen staff and experimentation with different brands of ingredient because the intention is there the execution is simply not. My honest recommendation is that my taco express reduces the price of their menu items because they are charging for quality specific taqueria experience without being able to deliver that. For example, los Cantaritos is also in Hoffman estates and provides amazing quality food for the same price that my taco express does, and they are delivering each and every single time consistently. I would recommend as well that if they do not reduce their prices here at my taco express that you just steer clear of this option completely.

Newer Mexican spot in town! You don’t have to try hard with Mexican food to go well. The place needs a bit of spiritual lifting. Take out menus , a full menu on their website or google not a picture of it. They already have a website, just polish it up.
They have an extensive menu and some Mexico City favorites which not all Mexican restaurants in the area have. Have great things but just need better marketing. Food was good! Pleasant service.
