Typical bar food, arrived on the table hot. Hubby and I have come here twice, both visits were during slow times. Apparently business picks up later in the night. Good to know!

I’d give less stars if it was possible. Beers that were half foam and overpriced food that came out cold. And not once in the 20 ish minutes we were there (sitting at the bar mind you) did our server check back.

I’m sure they do a great job all day long, but I have only been there later in the evening and it is an Oasis for a thirsty and hungry traveler. There is not much open in Pierre later into the evenings. Being able to stop in the Chuckwagon late at night and get not just a drink but some simple and tasty bar food is wonderful. Service is steady, friendly but not always fast. Hard to find folks willing to work late nights in a small city. The folks they have there are great and work really hard. I’m a very occasional out of town visitor and the times I’ve been there both the staff and the regulars were really warm and friendly.

Slow service. Waited 5 minutes at the bar to be told hello. Another 10 for a drink and menu. After a guy came in after us by 10 minutes, got a drink, order and his food and we still did even have the bartender ask us what we wanted, we left. Could have been a bad night, it was slow but you never know. We liked the place itself, but wish we would have been served.

Slow service, food was cold by the time it is served. Had to get our own food before it got cold, burgers are salty. Wait at the bar for several minutes to get served when the bartenders are standing around talking to other customers who have already been served. Not sure what it going on lately here but have not been impressed lately.
