It was a cozy little place but they serve you at the hot bar and the lady serving us did not give us a chance to look she just kept saying and what else over and over again. Not the best first experience

While working in Lake Providence Louisiana I visited this place while on my lunch. Definitely wasn’t expecting much from this place. But I was pleasantly surprised but how good the food was here. Small cafeteria style lunch set-up ( set up to allow a variety of choices). I ended up getting the rice and peas, fried fish, sweet potatoes and piece of lemon cake. The rice and peas and sweet potatoes were really good. The fish was just thin pieces that were okay. Overall the meal was pretty good. Great food and great service and a great price. Now here’s an example of a place that prices its food reasonably and aren’t trying to price gouge its customer just for the sake of price gouging their customers.

Food was good but left a little ti be desired, it’s a not a self serve buffet. They serve you. You get 1 meat/main, 2 side items, roll or hush puppies, a drink and dessert. They offer a salad bar, but its extra, unless you substitute a side item for a salad. Price for portion sizes is a bit too much. The waitresses do a good job of asking if your need a refill on your drink and bring your dessert if you forget to pick it up. I would recommend this place to anyone if you’re in a hurry and dont want to wait for your to order your food. But i wish they would give a little more vegetables on your plate!!

I met a friend here one day for lunch, it looked like a good place to sit down and catch up. For the most part, it was. The food wasn’t great but the place was clean. I had fish and as far as good fish goes, I’ve had way better at any random gas station in the state. Zero flavor what so ever. My friend had meatloaf and said it was “ok”. The girls working were very nice but came to the table way way too much. I know that’s a weird complaint but it’s hard to have a conversation when little every couple minutes your hit with, “y’all doing alright still?”. Every 2-3 minutes is too much and annoying. May try again one day but it certainly won’t be my first pick again.

I was in Oak Grove for a funeral and went to Cindy Kay’s for lunch with 7 family members. Unfortunately most of our food was very salty and also had too much pepper. One person got the lima beans, and she could not eat them. Maybe today was just an off day. We had eaten there before, and all the food was good. There was a good selection, but we had to wait for a while for the fish.

I travel all over but this is from my hometown. That is not at all why I like it so much. If you want good southern food then come here. I love it. Always great. Been eating in this building all my life.

If you don’t like it then somethings wrong with you.

Eat up!

Excellent place to eat lunch. Friendly, country atmosphere. Mrs. Cindy Kay and all of the workers provide great service to everyone. They do not know a stranger, only friends that they’ve never met. Great Christian people.
