We stopped in here before going to the festival of lights. My husband got the pastrami sandwich with waffle fries and I go the pulled pork which comes with chips. I added an extra side of fried okra and he also tried the fried pickles. Fried pickles come out very hot so proceed with caution! Everything was great. Only complaint is the sweet tea isn’t very sweet. I ended up getting a starry because it tasted more like unsweet… bathroom was unique to flush..took me a second to find the pull string! Very unique. I included a picture because I thought it was neat! Enjoy!

The food is good standard bbq fare brisket, ribs, sausage, chicken, and a few sides. The prices are fair and you’ll get full, the staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant is set in a charming building and is across the street from the famous leg lamp.

The special in NOT a special! We both got the bake potato special for Thursday. No price on the special just that it’s the special for today, it was 17 dollars each. It had cheese, butter, sour cream with chop brisket, meat quality was low. Than got a apple crumble with a cup size ice cream… Told the waitress it wasn’t baked all the way, she said it’s from Walmart and that’s how it comes. Paid 10 dollars for that slice of Walmart nonsense. The waitress told our order, brought drinks and never came by to ask if everything is ok or is the food ok. I had to wave her down to get the check. Paid 53 dollars for two baked potatoes, a Walmart apple crumble and one unsweet tea. Never again, folks need to be warned.

The overall order since they was out of the Brisket and Tri-Tips left little available. Felt like arriving last for the family cook out. I settled for the Smoked burger. It was decent. I also got the Handcut Fries & Smoked BBQ Beans. The fries were chips wanting to be fries and the Smoked BBQ Beans was the best thing I ordered. I wish they would have had more options available.

The building is gorgeous and very nicely restored. The service was lacking and the service was worse. We were a party of two, came in and waited a while and nobody acknowledged us. We had to waive down a waitress after a table that arrived after us was already getting their drinks. When the food arrived it was cold/cool. The taste was good but temperature was not. The brisket was well cooked but child, the creamed corn was closer to street corn, not creamed. The pickles were good. The restaurant was only half full and the price was high enough that service and temperature should be a bigger focus.

The food was delicious and portions were generous. Our servers were friendly and very efficient. We thought the prices were perfect for what we ordered. We had. Brisket, tri-tip, waffle fries, and green beans.
We were planning our next trip back before we finished our meal.

We recently visited this spot and really enjoyed the porky sandwiches—absolutely delicious! The restaurant’s unique antique atmosphere added to the charm, making it a fun place to dine. One girl we interacted with was very friendly, but unfortunately, our server didn’t check on us except to take our order and deliver the check. While the food alone is worth a return visit, we hope the service improves next time.

Got the smoked chicken and rib dinners & smoked spicy sausage for my husband and I. The sides were baked beans, potatoe salad, and a loaded baked potatoe. The chicken had a great smokey flavor and was tender, the ribs were excellent and I loved the sweet and spicy kick of one of the house BBQ sauces. Im not the biggest fan of baked beans, but wow!!!! These were soooo good! Loved the smoked sausage and potatoe salad too! I sampled a little bit of everything before my husband had a chance to dig in, lol.

The service was excellent and the lady at the counter even took great care in the presentation of the food we got in the take out boxes which is an absolute lost art nowadays, the portions are generous, and the atmosphere is very nice!

Its been about 4 years since I have had some GREAT ribs and the local places we have tried kept that tradition going until now!!! A must try!

P.S I dug in before snapping a picture, lol.

Well. We’ve been wanting to check out this new restaurant which is the same owner as El Chetos Mexican restaurant. We love the decor and atmosphere, the art deco Bathroom was cool. The ceiling has old fashioned tin decor and the restaurant feels casual. Ok, so we stopped by for a Christmas drink after dinner nearby and we ordered a glass of wine and a beer. Things got ridiculous here when they served us a small glass of wine with an inch and a half of wine in it. We asked if they were finished pouring the glass of wine and they said yes, that’s $9!!! Nope, we refused it. The amount of wine in that small glass was like a sample you get at a wine tasting. The other bartender poured the wine but our bartender said she didn’t think that was enough either. When we questioned the bartender who poured the wine she said What do you want? A half glass of wine? I asked her how many ounces it was but she didn’t answer. Ridiculous price for such a small little glass of house wine. Never again, we’re locals and will never return to Savoy 1902.

BBQ is good. Collard greens are good. Frequent specials. Had an excellent oysters Rockefeller special this weekend. Seafood boils every weekend but I haven’t tried them yet what they’re like.
