What a great place! My niece and I stopped into Main Course for dinner at the end of December and it was fantastic. The atmosphere was cozy, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food was absolutely incredible. I’m already looking forward to visiting again on my next trip to New Paltz.

After walking at the West Trapps Trailhead we went to the Main Course for a late lunch. When you walk in there is a counter with two order pads. One for salads and one for sandwiches. You check off what you want and hand it in at a counter. We shared the Lentil Veggie Burger and the Chopped Salad. With the Chopped Salad you pick what you want on it from a long list of ingredients and the dressing you desire. I like that you fill out your order and you bus your own table. This should help keep prices down and let the workers deal with the food and not things customers can do. I hope to get back soon and try something different. I’m sure everything would be as delicious as what we ate.

Main Course is amazing! They have a wide variety of delicious dishes from salads to sandwiches to soups. I personally love their build your own salad option, where they do not cheat on portion sizes. They also have great desserts, my personal favorites being the peanut butter cookie and berry crumble. The one downside is that the staff can be a bit rude, but overall I love this place! I definitely recommend.

Great place. Fully staffed so the service is pretty fast, but the employees couldn’t care less about having friendly demeanors or being conversational with customers. They aren’t rude, usually, just indifferent. As most 20 year olds seem to be these days. Oh well. The staff is only for the counter and food prep. Seating is at the customers leisure. You get your own cutlery and napkins and do your own clean up. Picnic style. First come first serve. No waiting staff. Other than that and the outrageously expensive prices on food these days I’d recommend this spot for both food and seating. Ps… the beef empenadas are amazing! Cheers

Main course is the best place in town! The make-your-own salads are huge, full-meal portions at an unbeatable price, and the walnut dressing is truly to die for. The street-food dishes are consistently delicious, and the eggplant panini is so good I order it all the time.

Low key, lots of healthy choices at reasonable prices. Easy to order at the counter quickly if no line. Pick up your food when they call your name. Buss your own dishes. I recommend it to all my clients that are visiting the New Paltz area.
