We LOVE this place. Worth the drive. On these winter days, it’s especially cozy. They have the fireplace on and you can side by the big windows and play games until your food comes. A date night favorite. Sandwiches are to die for, very fresh. My husband loves the BBQ pizza called the Flipside.

This is a hidden gem. I would say it is worth the trip. The sandwiches and Pizza are excellent, my only comment is I have ordered the same sandwich 5 times, the Italian, and it has been delivered 5 different ways. Flavor is always good, but it is never the same. Also the young lady working is not very friendly. Despite all that it is definitely worth a try. Excellent coffee.

What has always been a commute drive-by, a “we should stop there sometime” kind of place, has now become a new, highly recommended spot!

We stopped in for lunch to finally give it a try, and all we can say is we wish we had tried it sooner!

The waitress was very kind and gave us a wonderful walk-through of their menu for our first-time visit.

We treated ourselves to their Buffalo Chicken Pizza on the famous Kalama sourdough crust and a French Dip on a hoagie roll with an upgraded cup of the soup of the day (Thursday’s clam chowder).

The pizza, sandwich, and soup are now all ranked top of our charts. To top it all off, we grabbed a delicious infused Red Bull and latte for the road.

No notes. Just an absolutely lovely hidden gem with delicious food and caffeinated drinks. We will be returning!

Mocha was delicious. My truck broke down, so I walked a mile or so to The Flipside to get a coffee. What a perfect oasis from my horrible morning. They have beers on tap, plenty of wines to choose from, and the pizza menu is going to require a sample in my future. I just saw they have 12 flavors of ice cream! Forget McMinniman’s, come to The Flip Side.

What a treat!

Beautiful space with eclectic design elements – see photos. They offer pub tables and regular dining tables. There is a cozy fireplace and games are available if you’re interested in playing. The Flipside offers beer and wine and they have a separate coffee bar.

Ginger was our server and she was spectacular! She greeted us with a friendly welcome and came right over to tell us about the place and give us menus.

Let’s talk about the pizza! They use Kalama Sourdough dough and that in itself is pretty fabulous! The sauce is tasty and they really pile on the toppings.

We’ll definitely be back!

Stumbled on this cute little place and glad we did. Had the pizza which comes on sourdough crust with locally sourced toppings, it was delicious
Update: went back one year later, had pizza and was very disappointed. It looked good, first few bites were good, but as you got to the thick outer crust, it was totally uncooked, just gross. Make sure if you’re ordering it to ask that the outer crust be thinner.

Took me a couple years of driving part this place on my commute for my boyfriend to say “hey, lets check this place out”. I’m somebody who sticks to places I know I like, and don’t tend to try new things often, but I’m so glad I did. I got the French dip and soup of the day which was a chicken tortilla soup, it was so good. The French dip was good too, I wouldn’t have thought to try it on bread other than a hoagie.
My boyfriend got a Hawaiian pizza and added bacon to it and said it was really great.
There’s wood games at all of the tables, so we enjoyed quite a few games of connect 4 and got to watch a couple trains come by during our stay.
Although we were full when we left, I’ll definitely make sure to save room for some of the delicious looking ice cream at the front counter next time.
Lots of taps as well.

People have been raving about the Flipside and their sourdough pizza crust. It was just ok. We ordered and extra crispy pizza and it was soggy and doughly in the center. Pizza is served on paper plates with the worst utensils. The decor is unappealing. Service was great. Pizza…just so so.

One of my favorite spots in Kalama. The environment is warm, inviting, and upscale. The staff is always warm, inviting, and on point. Best pizzia in kalama. Never had anything I didn’t enjoy from the menu. The kids and I visit more often than we likley should.
