Met a friend here for lunch. Neither of us are from the area so we didn’t know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. The inside is super cool and unique. We are outside in a gated patio (dog friendly) and had a great server. The owner was also super friendly and the food was well-priced, well portioned, and really tasty. If you’re ever in the Lumberton area, you should definitely stop in. AND they sell Inis perfume which is really hard to find and smells amazing (like an Irish mermaid) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

First time here. We had a great experience. The service was excellent!! We had a private dining room. The menu is exciting! Plenty to choose from. The place is decorated very nice. Can wait to come back. If you’re in the area this place is a must!!

I really wanted to like this cute restaurant. It is located inside an old house on Elm St., in downtown Lumberton, NC. The place is ready for Instagram pictures with your favorite girlfriends. However, the food is subpar. I wanted a light lunch, so I ordered a grill cheese sandwich. After all, if you can’t successfully make an American grilled cheese sandwich, you can hang your apron and quit your job as a cook.
As you can see from the pictures, what I received was a plain Jane grilled sandwich, with a handful of out-of-a-bag potato chips. The sandwich had no flavor, not even the cheese singles! If you take that little care a simple grilled cheese sandwich, what else are you cutting corners on? And why did I have to wait 20 minutes for such a simple item when I was the only person in the restaurant?
You look at the picture and tell me if that was worth $9.
I hope the owner takes better care of the menu instead of concentrating on the décor.

Enroute to Charleston we stopped through for dinner. What a great decision. Everyone was super friendly including Philip giving us the restaurants history. Food was very tasty and the art sales concept was cool.

Great hidden gem! We were traveling through and looking for something other than fast food. This place was great! The lasagna and chicken marsala were delicious and the beer and wine selection was impressive. The staff was incredibly friendly and informative. The outside patio was charming. I highly recommend trying this place. Also, the owner ran after us after my wife left a sweater at the table, which was a very appreciated kind gesture.

I absolutely loved dining here! I really wish we had a place like this back home. The food was very good while being reasonably priced. But my favorite part was the environment. The decor is very eclectic and homey which i enjoyed a lot. They have paintings from local artists that you can buy. They have varied seating options. If you have a big party you can dine in the back which is an open space with multiple tables. There are also separate rooms that are more closed off if you want a more private dining experience. I definitely recommend stopping in to eat here.

The reviews made us want to go 10 minutes off the highway for a yummy lunch while traveling. The prices were very high for the small portions. The chicken quesadillas were just OK and truly looked like they came off the kids menu. The worst part was my sister’s burger tasted like the meat was getting ready to spoil. The server said “Im sorry” when I asked her to tell the cook to try it before he served it again”. Extremely disappointed, obviously!

What a find! A dear friend and I met here for lunch yesterday and could not have been happier with the excellent food and service. We were warmly welcomed. We enjoyed the original artwork and the ambiance, too.

We held the celebration of my mom’s life at Happenings on Elm earlier this month. My mother was an artist, and the owners worked closely alongside us to put together a tasteful, intimate, and artistic event in her honor. The food is great and they offer a good selection of local craft beers and wine. My husband and I look forward to returning to Happenings on Elm whenever we are visiting Lumberton. This place is a unique local treasure!

We wanted to stop for a quick bite on a road trip, but we were tired of fast food. We read the reviews & decided to venture off 95. So glad we did. Adorable eclectic place; friendly staff & owner. Great concept: delicious food and wine bar, and showcases very talented local artists with art & craftwork available for sale. The blue cheese on the burger was outstanding. The shrimp po boy (a special) was one of the best I ever had. Wish we could have stayed longer for dessert but we had an event to go to. We hope to go again on our way back home. Go. You’ll be glad you did!
