Second time here to the Sunday $10/10 wing special and give the burnt ends a try. The wings were perfect as always… meaty, juicy, and great smoke flavor! The burnt ends were very Smokey and flavorful, a little dry but definitely worth the try!

We went here while working at the local airport, we wanted something other than chain restaurants that were local to where we live. We found this local barbecue joint and I will say, it has that appeal of being not flashy and being very very good.

I’ll start by saying, the mac and cheese is something. That’s awesome. It’s a Southwest style with a little spice and Twang to it. Which was unexpected and well welcomed and they used my favorite pasta cavatappi, think tubular corkscrews.

Next the baked beans, they are definitely up there. They’re braised with brisket in it and are very well balanced. Not too sweet or to savory, but meaty flavor and you can taste everything in the sauce.

Lastly, the meats, everything was cooked very well and tasty. I would come again if I’m back in the area. The sauces were good and easy to eat, the cornbread was also an amazing touch. Very good and too crumbly. I would recommend coming here for lunch, the plate size was only $25 and change for all that food. Highly recommend stopping by even if you’re in town for a few hours.

Great food, good people working there. More details to come. Today is opening day! Brisket was tasty, potato salad and baked beans are fantastic. Coke products.

Their wings are top notch, due to the smoked process. Ribs are spare ribs (I wish they were St. Louis, personally) so they are smaller but again, the smoked flavor is amazing. Mac n cheese is thicker and creamy/cheesy.

The food here is unbelievably fresh and delicious. When we went the6 were really busy and yet they still were able to get people in the door, seated, and fed in shirt order. Their BBQ sauce is remarkable and full of flavor. The Mac n cheese is what dreams are made of and don’t get me started on the jalapeno corn. It is so cheesy and spicy, I absolutely love it all. I will be back again and I encourage everyone to go try this place. I have a funny feeling it will become one of your favorite places too!

Everything was delicious! I forgot to take a pic before starting to eat so my coleslaw is already on my pulled pork in the picture, yum! Drinks were good and service was great had people checking on us that weren’t even our server.

Nope nope nope! What a waste of $16! (Our total for me and my husband was around 38.00) I ordered the 1 meat platter with chicken with the sides of BBQ beans and Fries Fried golden brown. The 2 pictures on the website menu which I attached, show pulled chicken, but apparently at the Pleasant Hill location it is a quarter…greasy dark meat quarter . The beans tasted OK but we’re loaded with meat fat so it was hard to get to the beans! The fries were soggy and very bland! And the cornbread, besides being a baby piece, had no flavor…I had 6 or 7 fries, a couple bites of beans, one small bite of the cornbread and NONE of the chicken!! I will say my husband got the brisket…he said the taste was good but they were loaded with fat! And when I called to find out about the chicken the guy that answered immediately got defensive and i could tell he really didn’t care what i had to say! We heard they were comparing themselves to the previous Rollin Smoke…NOT EVEN CLOSE!! Not recommending this to anyone including the neighbors dog!! The 3rd picture included os what I literally threw away!!
The only reason I am giving them a 2 star for service is because the gal that checked me out was really nice!

Great lunch! Friendly staff. I had the Lunch Rack (4 pork ribs) that were so tender and juicy. I mean fallin’ off the bone good! The mac n’ cheese was runny but tasted great and the jalapeño corn is to die for! This place really earned my 5 star rating. No disappointment at all. Highly recommend it.

My wife and I love BBQ and we heard good things so we stopped in for an early dinner. They don’t open until 4:00 so we waited a bit and it was definitely worth it! We started with the chicken wings and they were the best smoked wings that we have had since moving to Iowa. Very meaty and the bark was perfect with plenty of natural juices with every bite. We both went with the two meat platter and shared brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and sausage for the protein. Mac-n-cheese, baked beans, jalapeño corn, and coleslaw… everything was delicious! Try all 3 BBQ sauces, we thought that the spicy could have had a little more “Kick” but you won’t be disappointed. The Mac and corn were NUTS and definitely suggest getting them. The beans were good and the coleslaw was perfect if you don’t like sweet slaw. Both meals came with cornbread muffins and they were perfect for this meal.

Needless to say, we had plenty of leftovers and they were just as delicious the next day. We will definitely be back!!

Ordered the 2 meat platter. $6 up charge for brisket and $5 up charge for burnt ends making it roughly $40. 2 slices of brisket and 5 pieces of burnt ends. For $40 that seems very high priced. The burnt ends were the best in the city and brisket was good. A little dry but nice bark and just enough fat. Overall for the money it’s not worth it but still tastes better than any other bbq place in the metro.

Meat was soooo soft and moist, corn bread…. TO DIE FOR. and not to mention the “hot bbq” sauce. The PERFECT mix!!even the Mac and cheese and jalapeño corn were top of the line! Different flavors and all. Hands down can’t say enough!
