Genuinely one of the best places I’ve found that still serves amazing food with generous portions at low prices.
The guy who takes my order is always super nice and gives prompt service. I don’t know what that other person is complaining about, because I’ve been here 6 times in two weeks without a single complaint.
All the dishes are worth trying, and they’re so reasonably priced that you’d be a fool not to.
Hangout Express has the best ramen in Kenner hands-down.

First visit today, and what an experience! My friend raved about it, so I thought, “Why not?” Arrived at 12:10 PM, 10 mins after opening, and the door was still locked. The guy inside saw me and finally let me in (red flag #1).
Inside, the hygiene was… questionable. Dirty vents, grimy walls – just a general lack of cleanliness. The A/C vents right by the door were particularly disgusting. My first thought: “If the front looks like this, what’s the kitchen like?!” Almost walked out, but decided to give it a shot.
Service was quick, and portions were generous, which was a plus. I ordered grilled steak ramen, but my “steak” was mostly fat, not meat. The flavor was just “okay.” I got an unsweetened bottled tea (better than a nasty brewed one!), but my husband’s green tea was… off. Not the usual green tea flavor at all.
Overall, the cleanliness was a major turn-off. Now, an hour later, my stomach is NOT happy. Not sure if it’s the food or the spices, but I’ll update later. This was definitely my first and LAST time here. ♀️

Been here about 4-5 times, EVERY SINGLE time I ate here the food was just beyond superb! The ramen soup is fantastic! Their drinks are better than expected and staff so freaking nice! Have not had ANY bad experience and I think I won’t ever, truthfully. I highly recommend this cool lil dive in. Why you think it’s call the hangout ? lol super cute little spot that’s just randomly placed in the middle of chaos.

We went just after lunch. Wasn’t busy. Was my first time eating here.
We both ordered lunch specials: the Grilled Stake Ramen & Udon Ramen Chicken Katsu.
It was a lot of food, and ended up bringing half home. The lunch prices are very fair!
My only complaint is the fountain drink machine doesn’t work so they use bottled drunks.

I got a Shrimp Ramen, and it was wonderful! I went with a friend and split 2 appetizers (coconut shrimp and steamed pork buns), but were delicious. I was happy with the lunch prices and the size of the ramen bowl. The entire experience was great!

I’m here for the five dollar APPs ! The coconut shrimp were light n crispy! The egg fried rice had great flavor and was much.
Haven’t yet tried the pho, because all are made with pork broth. No alternate broth for the pescotarian is kind of a bummer but the bowls I have seen come out look hearty and hot.

1st time here, we didn’t even know this place existed. We saw the sign that said Ramen so we tried something new. We were presently surprised. We told the guy we had never eaten this before so he explained the menu to us. The food was very good! Will definitely be back.
