Extremely disappointing. The pizza had no flavor at all, and the dough was way too puffy and somehow still raw in the middle and bottom. On top of that, the pizza was tiny—definitely not worth the portion you get $98.58 didn’t fill up 4 people. What really made it worse was the price: crazy expensive for something this underwhelming. I still hungry and annoyed. Won’t be coming back.

First time trying this place, and was interested to try their Sicilian style. It was unfortunately quite underwhelming. Had what seemed like good quality ingredients but didn’t blend well together in flavors. Also not enough cheese. But more importantly, they overcooked my pizza and had a lot of black char on both the edge of the crust and shaved off underneath. The burnt aspect took away any chance of the other flavors shining through. I’ll maybe give them another chance and try their original pizzas, but they need to do better for the price they’re charging.

Stayed with MIL in Glenview, IL and naturally ate pizza on the daily. I gravitate toward thin crust NY style pizza and Sal’s wins in a landslide. Thin crust and oh so good. Cute place too!

One of the best Connecticut / NY Sicilian-style pies in the area. Good char on the bottom, no flop, everybody knows the rules ;). Pizza perfection.

I have ordered Pizza by Sal for delivery multiple times and am always very happy with the quality of food. Don’t tell Chicago but I love a New York style crust. They do a great job with pizza but also the pasta, meatballs and salad are delicious. I should have reviewed awhile ago because of the food but my most recent order motivated me now. There was a slight error in our order. Human beings make mistakes, every single one of us have. The way the staff handled fixing the error was above and beyond! The kindness I experienced left my heart as full as my belly!

Yo! The pizza is amazing because they use really good ingredients. Like, better than you can buy. I’m not a mushroom or tomato fan on pizza, and I’ve now learned it’s because I’m eating pizza with cheap ingredients. Sal’s Za was so good. I had sausage, mushroom, and tomatoes (because that’s what my father-in-law wanted) and it was awesome. We did half red, half white, and it felt like we had two completely differently pizza. 5+ stars. Keep it up Sal. The pizza is dope. Can’t go wrong with some quality pepper flakes or parm sprinkles tho.

Great authentic thin crust pizza. Everything felt home made. Do not forget a dessert. The Tiramisu was delicious. Their bakery makes the finest. Cookies!!! So is the staff. Great. I will be back.

We visited Pizza by Sal for the first time yesterday after hearing great things from our neighbors, and overall, it was a positive experience. The food was good, and we’d definitely order from here again.

We started with the chicken tenders, which were indeed tender—we could have gone for seconds. For the pizza, we opted for cheese, sausage, and mushrooms. It was enjoyable, though we think calling it NY style is a bit of a stretch; most wouldn’t notice unless they’re from NY like us. The pie was tasty, but it felt a bit salty, possibly due to the cheese or sauce. The crust was thin and foldable, striking a balance between crispy and soft.

We’re giving 4 stars for a couple of reasons. While the service was quick at first, it slowed down significantly when we waited about 20-30 minutes for our pizza. Our waiter seemed to forget about us, so we had to remind him.

Additionally, the prices felt high—$29 for a 16″ pie with two toppings seemed steep, likely due to the “Wilmette effect.” They claim to use high-quality ingredients, but inflation plays a role as well.

Lastly, the noise level increased significantly once families arrived with kids running around and using the arcade machines. We suggest the owners consider adding sound-absorbing materials to improve the dining experience. It doesn’t need to be silent, but a quieter atmosphere would be nice. Overall, it’s a place we’d return to, especially if they address these issues.

This was our first—and very likely last—visit to Pizza by Sal. Walking in, we genuinely couldn’t tell if we had entered a pizza restaurant or a high-budget Chuck E. Cheese. Every table was packed with kids, screaming included, which completely killed any chance of enjoying a meal.

The garlic knots were laughable. Calling them “garlic” is generous—they were just plain bread with a light butter brush and absolutely zero garlic flavor. Portable? Sure. Flavorful? Not even close.

We ordered a pepperoni pizza with shaved garlic. The shaved garlic never showed up, but the charge certainly did. Apparently, garlic here is more of a concept than an ingredient.

The waiter was fine, but somehow managed to take my card without ever telling me the total. To this day, I still have no idea how much I paid, which is always a fun surprise after dinner.

Between the chaotic atmosphere, bland food, incorrect order, and mystery billing, this place checked all the wrong boxes. Not an experience I’d repeat.

Pizza by Sal is just one of those few places that has everything, amazing service, delicious food and an absolute vibe of an old style restaurant with a modern twist.
