What should have been a quick, simple stop left me shaking my head. I came in with my own cup and asked for some hot water. Previously they charged a quarter. Today, instead of a small courtesy, I was told it would cost $1.07. To charge for something so basic felt unwelcoming, even petty.
Hoping the pastries would redeem the visit, I picked up a macaroon, which wasn’t cheap. They looked charming in the case—colorful, inviting, so cute with their faces. However, the moment I tasted it, the façade fell apart. It was mushy, tired, and clearly past its best. The kind of staleness that makes you wonder how long it had been sitting out.
What struck me most wasn’t just the stingy charge or the stale sweets, but the way the staff were left to struggle. The young woman at the counter was clearly confused about how to handle the hot-water request. She retreated to the back, searching for guidance from her manager (who never bothered to come out), instead staying hidden.
Watching her be left alone in that situation said more about the management than anything else: Not just poor training, but a lack of leadership and basic decency.
This place that presents itself as warm and inviting shouldn’t fail its customers and its own employees in the most basic ways. If you value hospitality, freshness, or fairness, you’ll want to look elsewhere.

This place has such variety of foods and snacks to offer, I love it! They have bubble tea, bakery items such as these cute macarons, some kitchen cooked foods (lunch specials available) and much more! I’m eager to go back to try more but all my daughter wanted to were their macarons. Until next time…

This is a wonderful sweet bakery store inside Mitsua. It’s for take out, not space to sit inside the store. Very clean and colorful. They have waffle pop (waffle that looks like ice cream bar), mochi donuts, bubble teas and few other types of bakery snacks.
We ordered the cookies and cream waffle pop and the strawberry mochi donut. The barista handed us order within a minute. Super quick service and easy checkout. We loved both waffle and donut. They were so soft and chewy. If we are in Mitsua again, will stop by for more sweet snacks in future.

Why the 1 star? Because this place is just simply owned by a horrible owner. Do I still come? Yes cause all the dessert spots are owned by him within the food court. Is the food good? Some of them are! But very greedy with the overpriced charge! And the way he treats his employees is such a disgrace! I have faith in karma. What a shame!

This is only a review of the Mochi Donut side of Kai Sweets. One of the best donuts I’ve had don’t feel guilty about eating. The donuts do start to get hard if you keep them more than a day after they are baked from the store. So these are best enjoyed as quickly as you can after buying them. Flavors can be limited as some flavors need more time and come out at noon but the early morning flavor might sell out if you wait.
I haven’t tried the crepe and tea section of Kai Sweets yet.
I love the donuts but they are higher in price like premium flavor Krispy Kreme donuts.

My favorite mochi donuts thus far! I tried the Black Sesame, Oreo, and Strawberry Cream mochi donuts. Out of the three mochi donut shops I’ve tried, they were my favorite because of the texture.

I am satisfied with these donuts!
This donut shop is inside of Mitsuwa Marketplace. There was a 10-15min wait to go into the grocery store. And once we got in, it was just my husband and I beelining to the donut shop! And there were only 2 people in line. Great lighting, and a very clean shop!
Donuts are so light, fluffy, and 100% worth our money. Each donut is $2.81 each. Buy 5 donuts and get one free. So of course we left with a 1/2 doz donuts.
I have to say these donuts are not as chewy (almost like regular donut texture) as the ones I’ve recently tried from Mochinut in Fortlee, NJ. They are also not as greasy either, which is good, because you know my husband and I will be sharing 3 donut in one sitting and the last 3 donuts for after-dinner dessert.
The glaze on these donuts are 1/2 the thickness and 1/2 the sweetness as the ones from Mochinut. Wish it was a thicker glaze, with the same amount of sweetness. The toppings used to decorate the donuts are also 1/2 the amount used in comparison to Mochinut.
So in conclusion, if you are more health conscious, but still want to treat yourself, then you might opt for mochi donuts from Mochmochi Kai Sweets. You do get what you pay for and I would definitely return again to try out other flavors.
Our favorite flavors are Oreo, strawberry, and matcha. The yuzu citrus was overpowering, I think there were too much citrus peel topping, very tangy.
We also ordered a strawberry daifuku. The strawberry and sweetened red bean was freshly wrapped with Mochi. Made to order, $3 each.
Superb customer service! The girls are all super friendly and efficient. Check out was speedy too!

An interesting little donut shop in Mitsuwa. They have a variety of different donuts and six cost fifteen dollars. Tried the matcha, oreo, dark chocolate, and the yuzu citrus donuts.
The consistency of the donuts is unlike american donuts as they have a mochi quality. Overall I was a little underwhelmed by the matcha donuts, couldn’t taste much of the flavor on the donut.
The real star of the show was the yuzu citrus donut. Absolutely fantastic, refreshing flavors throughout. If you’re eating here definitely get one!

Masa the manager or owner was absolutely horrible. I heard him speaking to one of his employees in such ill mannered. I had an allergy and didn’t fully read the menu and explained to one of the employees and he was sweet about it and was willing to change my order and I overheard the owner belittle this poor employee . I immediately asked for his name and tipped the employee , paid for my donuts and left feeling disappointed and disheartened. I have nothing to say for someone who treats their employees this way. Will not be supporting.

It is located inside the Mitsuwa. Take a left when you enter, go down to the end, and you will find Kai Sweet. They added a little shop next to it, called Mochimochi Kai Sweets. Here, you can get all sorts of mochi donuts!
We got Dark Chocolate, Matcha, Raspberry Chocolate, Black Sesame, Strawberry Cream, and Yuzu. The donut itself was very fluffy, moist, and chewy like mochi in a good way. Not greasy in any way. It felt light yet super satisfying! Just the right amount of frosting.
They all tasted amazing, but my favorite was Black Sesame Mochi Donut! It was really delicious! Matcha Mochi Donut was great too! Well, ok, they are ALL great! Strawberry Cream Mochi Donut takes you to a magical world… Did someone say rainbows and unicorn?
