We had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere was warm, and the service was truly outstanding. Our server took the time to explain each dish to us, highlighting the similarities and unique touches in the menu.
I’ve never had mofongo before (planting) it was flavorful and perfectly prepared. The yuca was another favorite of mine; I really enjoyed it. The chicken empanadas were a surprise-they had a flavor that reminded me of fish in the best way, full of rich and savory notes. The pork was also excellent, tender and delicious. And do not forget « Morir soñando» You have to give it a try to that drink!
Everything we tried was full of flavor and made with care. Highly recommend this spot for authentic and memorable food.

Being an Uber driver and picking food up at Delicias Dominicanas, we decided to try it! My husband had a street hamburger with fries and I had Carribean traditional stew. Both were absolutely delicious! The fresh mango juice was so refreshing! Highly recommend for locals and visitors.

If you are not in the area and are not searching for it, you’re not going to find it. Having eaten and practically all Hispanic (not mexican) restaurants in knoxville and pf this restaurant is frankly and awesome place to try authentic Hispanic/Dominican food. The menu is traditional, the atmosphere is inviting, service was fantastic and the food was amazing. My wife and I shared 1 ham and cheese empanada which was fried perfectly accompanied by the traditional mayoketchup sauce. For our main course we hand the ckn beef and shrimp platter with fried plantains, yuca, side salad with avocado and rice and peas (gandules), a mango juice and a malta. Even got to sample their sancocho stew. Yes its just as it sounds, a malt drink. Ended dinner with 2 Cafe con Leches and a flan. To say we had a great experience is an understatement. Having lived in PR and Miami my whole life it is great to see east tn embrace varied foods that so many can enjoy. If you get a chance, stop in, and try something new.

We found this restaurant while in town visiting for the week. My only regret is that we waited until the end of our trip to eat here. However, if we had gone sooner, it might have left us disappointed in all meals to follow. This was the first and only meal that was a “Wow” for us. I was also sad my foodie college kid wasn’t able to be there with us to enjoy it. He would have loved it.
My 11 year old had the beef and cheese empanadas, my husband the beef yaroa, and I had the sancocha. It was all incredible. They have a housemade sauce for the empanadas. My daughter doesn’t use sauces very much, but we both agreed it was very good. The portion for the beef yaroa was big and my husband was not able to finish. He really enjoyed it and ate as much as he was able to. I got the medium sancocha and it was the perfect amount. The broth in it was heavenly. The meat was so tender. It was so delicious.
The service was incredible and everyone working was warm and welcoming. If we get back to the area, this will definitely be the first place we come back to.

What lack in size of the restaurant was more than made up for with the food.Everuyhibg on the menu looked/sounded so good. I have always want to try mofongo so I ordered that with ajillo shrimp. So so good!!! My companion went with a veggie quesadilla and said it was excellent. Our server was so kind. Made sure to answer any questions we may have had.
I/we will be back. Now that winter has reared it’s ugly head again why not stop in for a gastronomic trip to the islands.?!

Delicias Dominicanas – Review
While adventuring through Tennessee, I got excited when I spotted a Dominican restaurant. Naturally, I had to stop in — I’ve got Dominican family and have been eating this food my whole life.
The place looked nice and immediately reminded me of home. The smell brought me right back to the Caribbean.
I ordered empanadas, Dominican fried chicken, rice and beans, and tostones. I was a little disappointed — they said the empanadas were homemade, but it was clearly Goya-brand crust with filling. Not bad, just not like Grandma’s.
The fried chicken had solid flavor, but it was cooked to death — way overdone, which honestly also reminded me of some spots in the DR.
The rice and beans were excellent — rich flavor and cooked well. Tostones were just okay.
All in all, not a bad restaurant, but not the Dominican food I know and love. I probably wouldn’t go back. I think I was extra excited since I just got back from two weeks in the Dominican Republic — been going since I was two. Beautiful country, unforgettable food.

We were in town on vacation for 1 week and by our 3rd day we were missing our traditional hispanic comfort home food and Google brought this place up and we love Dominican food so we decided to check it out and we are so glad we did!! It was delicious and on point and tasted just like a home cooked Hispanic meal. The flavor was amazing and the waitress and atmosphere was perfect addition! When we visit again we will def be back to try other plates. I had the mofongo steak and it was phenomenal. Thank you for your hospitality!!
