I love their steak Philly and my husband loves the pork chop with fried potatoes eggs and a side of biscuits and gravy. They’re always so pleasant and the food is fresh and hot!

First time going to the location in Independence. Service is wonderful. Huge portions and very affordable. Best spot in town for breakfast. Fried potatoes with onion is top tier. Can’t wait to go back and try the carrot cake!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – Ray’s Diner

We stopped into Ray’s, a cozy little breakfast diner, and it did not disappoint! Our server, Tasha, was absolutely wonderful — friendly, attentive, and so kind about customizing our order.

I had the Breakfast Hamburger, which was literally steaming hot when I bit into it — perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The breakfast potatoes were a huge portion, with big, hearty pieces and great seasoning. Joshua went with the Ultimate Breakfast, a massive plate of all the breakfast classics, and Tasha even modified it so he could have their biscuits and gravy as his sides. Everything tasted incredibly fresh — honestly one of the best-made breakfasts I’ve had anywhere.

If you’re in the area, this is definitely the spot to go for a real, homemade breakfast.

(And side note — don’t be fooled by the empty parking lot in my photo; I used a magic erase tool to remove everyone’s cars!) ✨

The staff here are amazing and friendly. My husband and I walked in and were seated immediately. Our waitress was awesome. She kept our drinks filled and checked on us to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. The food is incredible! I would highly recommend this place!

We went in yesterday early afternoon. Our server was super nice. I had the tenderloin and onion rings. I didn’t care for the tenderloin the onion rings were delicious when they were hot and 1st came out. My husband had breakfast. Said the eggs were ok, didn’t care for the biscuit or potatoes. Reasonable priced. I did have concerns that some of the servers didn’t have their pulled back. Thankfully ours did. Definitely a place with regulars.

Amazing. And by that, I mean, amazing food, prepared and served amazingly. It was our first time there, after passing the place for months and we’ll definitely be going back. I had the chicken fried chicken, which was (can I say it again?) amazing. I saw at least 6 other menu items that I can’t wait to try. Home-cooked food in a homestyle atmosphere. What are you waiting for?

This place is soooo cozy! The staff are super kind and attentive. I don’t think my coffee or tea was ever empty. And if it was it was because I said no to the refill! The seats are comfortable and you have the news or a game to watch at an easy to look distance. The food is pretty good :)) I’ve only had simple bacon and eggs and to be honest I wasn’t too crazy about the bacon. Kind of tasted like the stove. Other than that my boyfriend enjoyed his chicken and waffles. When I tried his food, it was delicious!!

Order through Instacart (uber eats). To start with, everything was packaged well, customizations followed and sauces and utensils provided.

I’m so excited to have a new go to for local homestyle foods.
Portions are large enough to make two meals out of it.
We had the ultimate breakfast, cinnamon rolls, and friend chicken and curly fries.
All of it was absolutely delicious! Will definitely be ordering from here again!

I’d recommend this place for a great breakfast! Huge three egg omelettes, awesomely filling breakfast burritos, and if you like grits, they serve them up perfectly! Plenty of room for dining alone in peace, or for parties of many.
They are super friendly there, and they fought HARD through the pandemic stuff. They have my business and my tummy! Support local restaurants like Rae’s!

First-time patrons this morning, and we were very satisfied with everything. Our Friendly server, Delores was quick to answer questions and take care of us. Started with their yummy coffee (Farmer Brothers) shared a slice of coconut cream pie (got into it before i thought to take a pic) it was tasty! Also had their biscuits and gravy (peppery, nice flavor on the gravy) country fried steak (good breading crispy and seasoned well) with eggs, breakfast potatoes, and bacon on the side. All of it was delicious and served hot. I look forward to revisiting and trying the other pies and menu items. (Update) We’ve visited several more times since this post. Rae’s Cafe has become a tradition for us. I met “Miss Philly” the nice woman that makes the delicious pies. The goal is to try all of her pies- so far we’ve had coconut cream (twice), chocolate, strawberry and peanut butter cheesecake.
