Had a disappointing experience here. The small plate appetizer pakodas was very good but then the main entrees were a very small potion for $24 and lacked flavor. I ordered the chicken kurma I found it dry, my friends got the paneer tikka masala and chicken tikka masala and we all felt your dishes were not a large enough portion for the price and the chicken lacked spice. Interior was welcoming.

This is a perfect date night!! The wife works the kitchen and the husband front of the house. The food is incredible.

We love the small plates as it we were able to try a good bit of the menu.

The place is cozy so consider a reservation, but they keep bar seating for walk ins, so if you party is small just show up.

As a British person with south Asian descent, tea is important to me. Other than numerous tea events at my friends’ homes, I’ve had high teas in Edinburgh, Scotland and London as well as Washington DC. The afternoon tea at the Verandah is the best experience I’ve had. The balance of savory and sweet treats is perfect. The spinach pakora was crunchy and delicious. All the details of the tea were perfectly curated including china teapots and attentive service in a cozy atmosphere. I’m looking forward to returning for dinner and trying out the small plates.

Exceptional Indian food with native heat if you want it! Authentic flavors with a lovely owner.

✅Love the portions and how easy it is to share among friends.

✅ Great introductory experience to Indian cuisine for the non-adventurous eaters. Every picky eater we’ve taken here has left saying “wow we love Indian food”

✅ Super reasonable prices

⚠️ BYOB!

⚠️ Small space

The restaurant has a good ambience, clean with good staff.
Food is extremely average compared to the other Indian restaurants in Maryland. The quantity for the price comparison is not impressive. I definitely would recommend them working more on improving this. Recommend dining in rather than a take out.

Update: they’ve added a host of new dishes and they are delicious. Sorry I’m not good with the names so much as the content. The cabbage, the fish, the paneer chili, and the goat were amazing!!! I should have done one at a time but I was excited. Very much with the return visit. By the way, staff are amazing as well.
Okay, the place we were looking for was gone but this place was nearby. Sounded interesting so we stumbled in to find a food paradise. I do recommend the small plates because they are all so good. It’s byob, but a liquor store nearby. The ginger lemonade was amazing. Staff is courteous and efficient, prices are reasonable, we got out for less than 40 a person, not including tip. Update from Xmas 23, Still a food paradise.

Never imagined I can get Indian street food/snacks actually tasting like India in Baltimore. Do try the Jal jeera water, the chaats, vada pao. Everything on menu is just wow !! Perfect to catch up with frnds with some spicy tangy chaats and lot of chats in a cozy happy place.

This was our first time here and we opted to eat outside right on the sidewalk. Overall, it was a great experience. We ordered 4 small plates + a plain naan. Everything was tasty and well seasoned. We had plenty to eat with the 4 dishes. I am giving the restaurant a 4 rather than a 5 for two reasons: the naan bread is not baked fresh and that’s unfortunate. Also, be aware that 20% service is included in the check. I almost gave another 20% until I realized it was already included. We are planning to return in the summer to try more dishes.
P.S. Different freshly baked breads are an important part of an Indian and they enhance the meal.

I visited with a group of friends who had dined before and loved the food and the vibe. We specifically visited for the goat curry which had a lot of potential but was salty. The meat was tender and the best I have had in Baltimore. We got chilli chicken which was also salty but again, good. The pakoras was good. The shikanji was insanely good. However, my biggest issue with the place is the quantity. The goat curry was not enough for one and costed $25!!! Would highly recommend the place to work on the quantity. It’s a little on the expensive side. Would definitely visit again though.

This cozy spot is a gem! It’s a small, intimate space with a thoughtfully curated menu, perfect for exploring flavors in small plates. The tapas-style setup works wonderfully here, with each dish standing out in its own way.

I ordered the Malai Kabab and Chicken Rista as small plates, followed by the Kohlapuri Goat Curry with Laccha Paratha. For dessert, I tried the Chocolate Mousse and Mango Kulfi.

The highlights for me were definitely the Malai Kabab and the Goat Curry. The kabab was creamy and delicious, while the mutton in the curry was melt-in-your-mouth tender – cooked perfectly! The Laccha Paratha was also spot-on, with a nice, flaky texture that complemented the curry beautifully.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience with friendly service and a cozy atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back for more!
