I L Perez – El Reseñero
A tiny place serving food with big flavor.
The stewed chicken and the side of beans were incredible. Chicken falls off the bone. I love the flavors. I got the side of sweet fried bananas which for me is always a must.

Feels like straight home cooking. We had Pastelitos omg divine! They taste just like my mother in law used to make them. The pollo guisado was delicious! The pollo frito was also very good and crispy just wish it came with a sauce. Their desserts are very good too. They may have the best tres leches in Charlotte to be honest!

Amazing Dominican food! We met friends at the restaurant and all four of us were blown away by the food. Our friends had Steak and Onions, and Stewed Chicken. My husband and I shared the Fritanga plate. The food was great. They also have a bakery and we bought 3 pieces of Tres Leche. We watched as at least six or more gorgeous cakes went out the door for parties and a wedding, beautiful! The owners were very friendly, and their son took care of us. He had a great personality. They serve several beers including Presidente. And they have the Dominican liquor Brugal in addition to others. Next time I will take photos of the food.

Cute quaint atmosphere, extremely clean. Service was friendly and I received fresh food fairly quick. Everything is seasoned well, tender meat and flavorful. I will definitely be returning! So glad I didn’t allow the few negative reviews to discourage me because I would have missed out on a delicious lunch! Everything was reasonably priced as well. Definitely will go back for dinner.

I know it was the end of the day but come on. I was really disappointed this is the saddest Dominican fried chicken plate I’ve seen . When he said 6 pieces of chicken I wasn’t expecting lollipop chicken wings. I paid 8.99 for a side of beans and basically got sauce and a handful of beans. If there wasn’t enough food they could’ve just said that so I would have wasted my time and money. The yuca fries were good I’m not gonna lie but 3.99 for 5-6 pieces of tostones is crazy.

Juanita’s is good First of all this spot is easy to miss, but it’s right off of Brookshire and so worth it. You walk in and they’ve got this cute little dessert bar to the left and maybe five tables spread out and a cute little bar with a cute little bartender behind it. I got the stewed chicken which was so delicious and filling. It came with rice and refried beans a salad and plantains. I don’t know what magic he put in the beans but like I use it as like a sauce over the rice and dipped it in the chicken and I’m telling you, I have not had a lunch like this for $11 ever before in my life. I was in and out within 45 minutes, which is enough time to grab lunch and head back to the office. And the empanadas! Got three of them and regret nothing. It’s great to still have places like this with delicious, quick, and healthy meals available.
