Reviews
Went back last night, and while the drive-thru was busy, not nearly as bad as before. Decided to head inside to eat instead. There was no line to order inside, but several people standing around waiting to pick up to go orders. Since they were busy, it took a few minutes before I could order. The cashier was pleasant and took my order promptly. It only took about 5 minutes before I received my food.
I went with a Big Zax Snak combo and a birthday cake shake to drink. The food was good. Very similar to Raising Cane’s as far as the chicken tenders and texas toast. Zaxby’s fries are much better though, seasoned and delicious. The milkshake was great as well.
Only paid $13 for the meal, and overall liked the experience. The store was clean and had plenty of room to dine. Definitely recommend stopping by for a quick bite. However, if there was a long wait, I would probably skip by next time.
5 STARS – WORTH THE WAIT!
I finally made it to Zaxby’s after letting the hype and long lines die down a bit—and let me tell you, it was 100% worth it.
The chicken sandwich was AMAZING.
Perfectly crispy, juicy, and when you add that Zaxby’s sauce… it takes it to a whole different level .
The chicken tenders were straight FIRE, FIRE—fresh, seasoned right, and cooked exactly how they should be.
Let’s talk sides and extras:
Cheese curds – hot, crispy, and addictive
Fried pickles – crunchy with the perfect tang
Chicken wings – flavorful and sauced up nicely
French fries – hot, seasoned, and on point
All the sauces – every single one hit
Overall, the food was fresh, the flavors were on point, and the experience was great from start to finish.
If you haven’t been yet, RUN HERE ASAP. Don’t let the hype fool you—this place really delivers.
I’ll definitely be back!
There is no other chicken finger place in the DMV area that can compare to Zaxby’s chicken fingers.
I arrived at 6:57 PM and did not leave until 7:59 PM. The drive-thru line was very long, so while waiting, I placed a mobile order thinking it would speed up the process. When I pulled up to the speaker, I informed the worker that I had placed a mobile order. She stated that it would be ready at 7:31 PM, which I understood, and she said she would let the team know up front.
I pulled into the mobile order pickup area around 7:15 PM and did not receive my food until approximately 7:50 PM. After finally receiving my order, I checked the bag and realized there was no sauce included. I had already noticed about 3–4 cars in the drive-thru having to beep their horns to get missing sauces, which is what prompted me to double-check my order. I then had to go inside to request sauce.
Once inside, I saw a sign posted on the door stating that the location was experiencing fryer issues and that wait times may be longer. This was never communicated in the drive-thru. While the workers themselves were polite and did not have attitudes when I asked about my order status, the overall system and communication process need improvement.
The food itself was good, which I appreciate, but the overall experience makes it hard to want to return. Waiting over an hour for a mobile order, not being informed about equipment issues, and having to go back for missing items made for a very disappointing visit.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that improvements are made to prevent this from happening to other customers.
We placed a curbside order an hour ahead of time scheduled for pickup at 8:30 PM. When we arrived, we checked in on the app and parked in the first curbside pickup spot. After about 10 minutes with no acknowledgment, we checked in again. Still nothing.
During this time, I watched two employees come out of the building — one from the front and one from the side door near the curbside spots. One employee literally walked outside, saw me sitting in the curbside pickup spot, made eye contact, and then slowly backed back inside and shut the door.
When I went to open the door, it was locked. It was only 8:50 PM, and the lobby doesn’t close until 9:00 PM. There were multiple customers outside trying to get in and others waiting for curbside orders as well.
At that point I started trying to find corporate’s phone number because no one was acknowledging the curbside orders and the lobby was locked early. My friend — who placed the order and is nine months pregnant — was eventually able to get inside while I stayed outside calling corporate to explain what was happening.
Once inside, instead of helping her, the employees were standing behind the counter talking to each other and ignoring customers while the drive-thru line was backed up to the street.
When someone finally acknowledged her, they asked if she wanted to order. She explained she had been waiting 35 minutes for a curbside order. They asked for her name and then immediately slid the bag to her, which made it clear our food had been sitting there the entire time getting cold.
To make things worse, the experience inside was just as disorganized. She had ordered four meals, yet they handed her three cups and two bags with no drink carrier and no additional bag to hold everything. When she asked for help at the drink station, an employee told her “it’s at the front” with an attitude and walked off. Another customer who had been waiting for his own order actually had to step in and ask the staff to give her a bag and a drink holder so she could carry everything.
To make things worse, part of the chicken wasn’t even fully cooked, which is especially concerning considering she is pregnant.
I called corporate at 8:57 PM while we were still outside because the doors were already locked and customers were stuck outside. I even sent the screenshot of that call to the franchise owner. His response was essentially that he reviewed the cameras and claimed the doors weren’t locked until 9:02 PM, and offered to replace the meal.
That response doesn’t address the real issue. If the doors were not locked until 9:02, why was I calling corporate at 8:57 because we couldn’t get inside? There were also multiple other customers outside at the time.
Blaming a “technical issue with the app” also doesn’t add up when an employee literally came outside, saw me sitting in the first curbside spot, and walked right back inside.
This was a complete failure of basic customer service, communication, and food safety. The situation was handled poorly by both the staff and management.
I will not be returning to this location and would not recommend it to anyone.
The food?? Outstanding, just like I remembered in Georgia. I had the wings and things and the tenders were on the smallish side, but they were packed with FLAVOR! The wings smoking hot and the Fries were crisp, AND, the Texas toast was very good.
