This place has been one of my go to for the past eight years. I took my now life partner here on a first date and the rest is history. Their service is excellent. The roll combination is awesome. The portions are huge and the pricing is excellent for the high quality. Great for initiate dates and get togethers. Definite gem of this area.

I absolutely love this place! Port Monmouth has a hidden gem! I have been there 3 times in one week! Aki Sushi can take my money any day from anything off the menu! Amazing!

Went for the AYCE sushi and one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. I never leave reviews for places but this place is an exception. The server was abrupt and rude, and the sushi was not good. First bite of the salmon avocado roll and it legit tasted sour. Nothing tasted fresh and we both felt sick to our stomachs a few hours after eating here. Worst part about all of it was that they decided to fudge my check and added an additional $10 on top of my tip. This place wasn’t worthy of any tip whatsoever, but to change my tip amount and give yourself more money, especially after the brutal service and food? Cmon man, 0/5.

It was tasty, quick sushi. The staff was friendly and helpful. The maki rolls were tight and well made. I took a chance on the East Roll, which was a lot better than I was expecting. I would definitely get it again.

No AYCE on weekends.
Went there on a saturday evening to get all you can eat. Apparently they don’t serve it on weekends? We even called before and asked, they said they serve it, so it was surprising.
Loud background noise in the empty restaurant? Owner (older lady) seemed rude and unwelcoming. I don’t really recommend this place.

We usually order our Chinese from their competition across the street but they are closed for 2 weeks so when we got aki menu in the mail we decided to try it. We ordered the lunch special mixed veggies with pork fried rice and wonton soup and also got an egg roll. The food was excellent. The rice was not dried out and had good flavor. The brown sauce on the veggies had great flavor and the veggies were cooked perfectly. The wonton soup broth had nice flavor and the wonton melted in your mouth. Their prices are much cheaper than their closest competitor. We will definitely be ordering from aki again.

There was a fly in my girlfriend’s rice bowl they gave us. The chicken teriyaki she got had pepper that also looked like flies it was disgusting. The place was dead and the service was run by kids. I’m really surprised we didn’t get a refund for the food for it being $17+ for one plate. Never go here there are plenty of better options..
