Stage Stop re-opened in 2019 with new owners, Joe and Nancy. Our focus is creating quality and unique menu items, using mostly natural ingredients, served with great customer service. Quality Soft Service ice cream and gourmet sundaes made with our homemade sauces bring customers from near and afar. Stage Stop was recommended yesterday by another shop! They were closed for some time off after 7 years. We drove back to try it out! We were one of their first customers after they reopened!
There is on-street parking in front of the restaurant, a shared parking lot “behind” the restaurant, and quite a bit of parking by the park a few blocks away.
I had a cinnamon roll and a Stage Stop burrito and a sausage biscuit sandwich. I also had help! Hey! Yer eating the burrito before I took the photo! The burrito has the sausage gravy from the biscuits and gravy, but you can also get green chili on it. The biscuits are huge! Yay!
There were 4 tables for dine in, but the food is packed to go.
For their first day back, they are offering a free something for folks with a partially punched loyalty card. Surprise!

Stopped in for a breakfast burrito on my way through town and it is delicious. It Could use less potatoes, but it’s delicious nonetheless. The green chili is about perfect.The woman working the kitchen was amazingly efficient as well as funny and made for a great experience just passing through. Coffee is good as well, and the handmade raspberry turnover is unstoppable.

Stopped in for a light breakfast and latte. The HUGE blueberry muffin was awesome and the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit was fresh and tasty. While it took a little longer than your average shop the wait was worth it. The latte was just warm but tasted great. I’ll be back just for the muffin.

We stopped in twice in the past week to grab breakfast. Each time they didn’t have any biscuits. 1st time we left and went down the street. Yesterday we stayed and ate. Again out of biscuits. Our food was average. Sausage patty on my breakfast sandwich was half the size of the sandwich. Our lattes were mostly floth and 1/2 coffee. Younger ladies working were not welcoming to us and other patrons. Service was slow. Outdoor seating has great views of the mountains and of the town!

Stopped in yesterday and it was really nice to grab a soft serve ice cream on a hot day. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Just a heads up — the hours listed on Maps aren’t correct. The staff told me they’re actually open until 5 PM daily, not 1 PM.

Stage Stop is under new owners and it’s better than ever! My wife and I enjoyed their soft ice cream. Their great location in the heart of downtown Westcliffe is a treat in itself with the Sangre de Cristo mountains in the background.

If happiness could be wrapped in foil and handed across a counter, it would look exactly like a Stage Stop breakfast sandwich. These things are so good, I’m pretty sure they’re the reason the sun rises over Westcliffe every morning.
The bacon is crisp, the eggs are fluffy, and the cheese… oh the cheese… it’s like it went to finishing school just to learn how to melt with class. I swear these sandwiches could solve world peace.
By the time I took my last bite, I was already plotting excuses to come back.
If you’re passing through Westcliffe and don’t stop for one, that’s not a road trip, that’s just poor life choices.

Great Breakfast and a Beautiful View!
My fiancé and I had the breakfast burrito and it was packed with flavor—absolutely delicious! There is indoor seating, but space is limited, so if it’s busy in the morning, you might find yourself sitting outside. That’s not a bad thing though—on a nice day, the view and fresh air make it a great experience.
A solid breakfast stop in Westcliffe with good food and good vibes. We’ll definitely be back!
