We were greeted with a friendly smile by Frida. You don’t see that genuine welcome in hostesses in restaurants or businesses nowadays.
The maître d, miss Paige was very helpful with providing the ambiance & special attention I desired for my wife for the anniversary. The Champagne Toast / non alcoholic option & an exceptional dessert platter were perfectly presented.
Our server Landry was very knowledgeable, courteous and overly attentive with my wife’s dietary needs, since she’s pregnant.
The food was delicious, from appetizer and salad, artistically crafted, to entrees paired with master chef attention and detail when it comes to ingredients, sides, sauces and garnishes. I was still surprised of the amount of specials they still have on the menu (soup, salad, appetizers & entrees) & the abundance of choices in the regular menu.
Atmosphere was relaxing & enjoyable with soft music. Service pace was great and we even had the assistance of Wine Specialist Isaac who helped me pair my wonderful duck entree with a beautiful choice of French Cabernet Franc. Their wine menu is incredibly impressive, but fairly priced for the value of varietals & unique vintages.
Next time we’ll definitely have to try the Chef’s Table multi course selection that was suggested by their manager Gabi, who was kind enough to stop by to wish us Happy Anniversary and congratulations on the baby.
Highly recommend Chez Nous for a quiet date night or special occasion. Don’t miss out on this true gem of cuisine masterpiece.
We intended to take our 16 year old here for her 16th birthday but when we called to inquire about the tasting menu we found that Chez Nous no longer personalizes this experience. This was the part we loved before so we were quite disappointed and cancelled our reservation to go elsewhere. Especially since I had heard the food quality had gone downhill recently.
I reached out via email to express our disappointment and this is where it unfortunately got worse. At first I was dismissed for “misunderstanding” the menu, then they acknowledged that customization was an option before but no longer is and then finally replied that they would be happy to make a custom experience for us if they knew that was the expectation from the get go. All over the place. I wish they had let us know that customization was still an option up front when we asked if there was a way to upgrade the experience (even for more money). My husband absolutely asked about this before cancelling our reservation. Alas this info came too little too late. There are lots of amazing tasting menus in the area — I hope to find one that will offer the personalized food we used to love here.
The meal began with several traditional entrees. The escargots and beef tartare were both very well-executed, but the duck liver mousse was the clear standout of the course—exceptionally smooth and flavorful.
For the main, I opted for the filet mignon. It was prepared perfectly and was quite delightful. It’s clear that there is a high level of technical skill behind the menu.
For anyone seeking an authentic and high-quality French meal, I highly recommend making the trip. It is a rare find and certainly worth the time spent traveling.
We had a reservation at 615, and we got there early, at around 6:05, maybe that was our mistake.
We promptly got sat down upon entering, but we didn’t get the drink menu until about 6:30PM, which is kind of strange. Following that, we got our drinks pretty quickly after ordering them. At this point in time we didn’t get our actual menus yet, it wasn’t given to us until about 15 minutes after we got our drinks for whatever reason. Not to mention we didn’t get (1 piece of bread that wasn’t anything of note) until about 5 minutes after getting our drinks. After we got our actual menus we were able to order pretty quickly and the food came out at a good speed following that.
I mention all that because there were a lot of employees, and maybe we just came on an off day but there was a lot of waiting for no necessarily good reason. Sure we could’ve flagged down someone to come by, but it’s kind of strange if the onus is put on the customers.
The food was pretty standard, a bit expensive for the quality of the food. There wasn’t anything that blew my mind but it wasn’t bad.
Overall, im relatively new to French cuisine but if that was the opener to this new genre, I don’t think I’ll be so inclined to explore this avenue any further.
Dessert cannot be missed and their seasonal items are handmade and unique! Try the chocolate plater for example.
Reservations are encouraged and open table takes care of it easily.
