Tropical Smoothie in Spring Hill has been my go-to for years. They’re always so friendly and accommodating to my smoothie requests. And the new bowls have been such a hit with my kids and family. Even if they get things wrong, they always make it right. That’s the type of service I love to see. Love you guys!!

Used to love this place I always order online and pickup on my way to my office usually only order the Acai bowl 1 to 2 times a week, but over passed month the bowls are becoming more disappointing, couple times would be more soupy and terrible to eat, the two I got this week barely had any Acai in it. Will not be going back, not paying over 13 dollars for some cut up fruit.

This place is hit or miss and lately it’s been more misses unfortunately. Tonight we went and got smoothies and they were overflowing causing a mess. The girl working had earbuds in and walked away so I had to lean out of the car and knock on the window to get napkins. The smoothies were also flavorless. These are too expensive to be bad. I won’t be back.

I usually get a southwest wrap a few times a week from this location and normally it’s just fine. But today when I got my wrap, it was missing everything but the chicken and the egg. I took it back in for a refund and the receipt just says void. We will see if I get a refund or not in a few days.

I walked in, talked with the cashier and bought a peanut butter cup smoothie, it’s made and an employee named Gavin brings it to me. I notice he has a huge spill on his pants and I kindly inquire about it and offer a paper towel. He says it’s headlight fluid from his car. I look at him confused and tell him there’s no such thing as headlight fluid. He gets visibly flustered and his face begins to turn red. He assures me, rather defensively might I add, that it does exist and begins getting angry. He starts to call me stupid like the others. I don’t know who the others are. I try to apologize but he keeps cutting me off. He goes on about a story where he met a race car driver that crashed and got headlight fluid on his pants as well. He furiously insists it’s real. The whole restaurant is quiet at this point. No one has made a sound. I politely told him “Oh you know what you’re right actually” in an effort to defuse the situation. It works and he gets very jokey with me and walks off. At this point I haven’t even touched my smoothie and now I really don’t want to. I waited for Gavin to disappear before I asked the cashier for a refund.
The cashier firmly denied my refund and looked rather angry as well. As I was walking out, I was stopped by Spring Hill’s Alderman, Brent Murray. Star struck, I said hello. He smiles at me, hands me a 50 dollar bill. He saw everything that happened. He understands my plight. He walks up to the register and makes his own order. As I’m leaving, I look back one more time to see Brent. He was wearing some really nice shoes with neon pink laces. Very kitschy.

(If a girl named Love is there , you will have the best sandwich). I had the absolute pleasure of visiting Tropical Smoothie Cafe, and Love made my experience unforgettable! She crafted the most incredible Turkey Bacon Ranch sandwich on ciabatta—it was hands down the best I’ve ever had. Every bite was perfection, and it genuinely made my day. Love’s attention to detail and kindness truly stood out. Thank you for an amazing experience!
