I recently had the pleasure of dining at El Monstruo, and it was an incredible experience! Although the restaurant is a bit tricky to find, tucked away around the side of the shopping center near Planet Fitness, it’s definitely worth the effort.
The empanadas were absolutely fantastic – crispy on the outside and filled with delicious, savory goodness. If you’ve never tried an arepa, this is the place to do it. The arepas were perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor, and had the most delightful texture.
El Monstruo has quickly become my go-to spot for authentic Colombian cuisine. The food is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with love. I highly recommend giving it a try. You won’t be disappointed!

This food is delicious! Ordered the El Monstruo Sampler, which was a really good choice to split amongst friends to taste a little bit of all the appetizers. I also ordered a Chicken Arepa and empanada. I just have to say my favorite thing was the Arepa, it was perfect, savory and super flavorful.

Got 2 arepas togo and received the tiniest arepas I’ve ever seen. For the price of $13.80 plus tax, not worth it. Just meat and cheese very basic tiny size arepas. Disappointed comparing to many other venezuelan restaurants I’ve eaten good arepas at.

Delicious!! SO DELICIOUS! We had a hot dog and a hamburger but Don’t Be Fooled! I have never had anything that tasted like these did. Columbia’s flavor, sauces, toppings. Hit it blind, asked for recommendations and our waitress picked out the best for us. We will be back!

Service was horrendous. Obviously they weren’t ready for the TikTok boom. We had to track down our waitress for just about everything—placing our order, getting silverware, and even getting our drinks, which still hadn’t arrived by the time our appetizers got to the table. Despite the restaurant being small, the waitress seemed to be avoiding us and everyone else and you could definitely feel the tension coming from other tables. Only two employees—the waitress and the host—were running the entire dining area, handling seating, cleaning tables, and packing to-go orders. The waitress didn’t seem to know the menu well. I don’t blame the two women working—they were clearly doing their best under the circumstances but the owner needs to hire more staff or come in his or her self to help..especially on weekends. Food was delicious, which makes the whole experience even sadder.

This Colombian-fusion restaurant has been on my list to try. I came here for dinner and seated myself while I looked at the menu (Spanish and English menus provided). I asked the waitress what she recommended from the menu. I didn’t speak much Spanish but she did a great job recommending me and my mom our meals and drinks. I got a grape, Colombian grape soda and the Medallo hot dog. Everything was delicious and we will definetly be back again.
