I will say the fufu and egusi soup was DELICIOUS!!! Every single time I ordered it, it was so good. I’ve tried multiple different places and NOTHINGGG compares to this one! The only downside is the portions are so small for the price 🙁 I can’t speak for the atmosphere or service because I haven’t experienced it first hand as I’ve only ordered delivery. I definitely recommend this place! Just wish the portions were a little bigger.

It was my first time trying African food and I was highly disappointed. Although the decor was interesting. Anyway the lady i spoke to was patient enough in explaining what foods there were but a few times she could have serviced me better. There was specific things I needed to abide to which I thought was silly like If you’re ordering meatpie it comes in two’s, can’t order just 1.
It was maybe 3 times I thought I heard the door of a microwave opening and closing. I wasn’t 100% sure until I ate the food when I got home. Almost everything in my plate didn’t taste fresh. Like a day old everything. $26 for what I got……..never going back. One good thing I can say about the food, the flavor was there in the jollof rice. But if you want real authentic African fresh food, I don’t think this is it. I should have tried an actual African restaurant with 4+ ratings rather than this mall. Don’t come here if you want to be impressed.

I wanted to come up here and give my opinion on the food my husband purchased. I initially wanted to give them 3 stars for trying but my husband is a chef himself and felt like they deserved no stars. My husband is Nigerian born and raised. Some of the food my husband already touched before I could take the picture. As the picture shown that’s the jar they provided for sauce (which was originally half of the jar) for the fried yam. It’s something I thought I’d enjoy but the fried yam was no flavor at all. The egusi soup I didn’t enjoy at all but out of everything he said they tried. It’s a NO for me. The only thing I enjoyed was the Pomo in the egusi. it came with small pieces of meat. My husband implied maybe because it’s in the mall the portions were so small but it missed a lot of flavor and love if you know what I mean! The food came to $66 which was very overpriced. The fish and Jollof rice tasted funny. The pounded yam portion you can see for yourself I did try to enjoy the fish though. I called to inform only about the sauce and the owner was very dismissive. Owning a business I thought you would be able to take criticism. They gotta do better

The food is okay but the portions are so small that they are insulting. Any stew that you buy will be about 2 ounces, yes 2 ounces for $30. I’m not exaggerating, I said 2 ounces. After paying $140 today for three dishes and drinks all three put together doesn’t equal even 1 portion. It’s really not fair and they are so use to people questioning the portions that they don’t care. If you don’t pay $6 for swallow, it won’t come with the 2 ounce portion, 2 cut pieces of meat cost $8. The fish portion is about 4 ounces. For the price and always poor service, I’d say find you another spot. They don’t have a kitchen and preheat the food as it’s ordered. Business there is always slow and I’ve never seen any customers in there the several times that I’ve visited. Today was the last straw for me. The portions went from tiny to micro dot. Nobody can afford that.
Below is the actual portion, nothing taken out. The fish is bigger on this plate than it normally is. The food is descent and she says she gives small portions for so much money because she uses fresh ingredients and is in the mall. I don’t care where you are located, I’m a truck driver hauling spinach and an entire case of 20 bags cost $25 wholesale. Times are to hard to be played like this over food and the ingredients are cheap, cheaper lard greens $2 a bunch and spinach.

I have not had African food too often, but I really enjoyed my order. Jollof rice, plantains and fish to go. I liked the spiciness of the rice and fish very much.

Good: yam porridge, meat pies*, jollof rice
The meat pies would have been a recommend but We went back recently and we’re pretty disappointed. The meat pies tasted freezer burnt.
The yam porridge had large chunks of kind of hard yam – maybe not cooked enough?
Prices have also gone up a lot
The food is spice level roulette. Some days medium spicy some days very spicy and some days not at all
Original review:
We loooove the meat pies. The jollof rice and plantains are nice and we recently discovered we love the yam porrige (spicy and suprisingly not runny).
Some of the other items were not our jam but was fun to try. Sometimes the meat feels tough but not overly so.
Atmosphere isnt super polished but it is a mall restaurant so it’s not unexpected
On subsequent visits i have to mention the spice range runs the gambit having been as little as 0/10 spicy and as much as 9/10 spicy and it’s a bit of a gamble on how spicy that day’s batch will be.

I was in Woodbridge, NJ recently for a program. On a second thought, I chose to browse a nearby Nija restaurant for a Treat and Adebola brand came up as the closest. For those that know me, I am the finicky type and hard to please when it comes to our local delicacies. Here is the thing, from the phone calls to the visit(s), Egbon and Aunty were on point with an impeccable ambience and customer service, great value for money, all in a nice location( the great Woodbridge Mall). A visit will convince you!!! A shout out to their daughter, Eniola, for her fantastic support. I will return shortly! May God continue to enlarge your coasts. Amen

Worst african food ever! Before I start this review let me add that I am a Nigerian woman born and raised! so I know what authentic african good tastes like. I went to the resturaunt 1/19/2022. I ordered jellof rice, plantains, and fish, my order was $22. I asked was the plantains soft and sweet, the cashier said “yes ma’am” I inquired about the jellof rice the cashier told me it was cooked well. Once I got my food I noticed that it was all placed in a small compacted BOWL! a $10 bowl. 2 of the smallest pieces of fish I’ve ever seen, the plantain was salty! Very salty! Not sweet and soft at all. The jellof rice was horrible! No real season NO MAGGIE, it lacked flavor, it lacked everything l! I called the resturaubt and told the manager I was dissapointed and he dismissed me. The picture shown is the food I ended up throwing out! Total waste of $22

I came across this African restaurant while walking through the mall and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, my experience was very uncomfortable from the moment I walked in. I was immediately looked up and down, which made me feel unwelcome.
When I approached the woman at the front, she didn’t seem interested in helping me at all. I asked if they had any premade food, and instead of answering, she dismissed my question and just asked, “What do you want?” I explained it was my first time there and asked again what they offered. Rather than taking the time to explain or make me feel welcome, she gave me a one-word response and simply pointed to the signs behind the counter.
As a first-time customer, I expected at least some basic courtesy and guidance. Instead, I left feeling disregarded and unwelcome. This was my first time visiting, and unfortunately, it will also be my last. Best of luck to their business, but I can’t recommend it based on my experience.
