Have been going here regularly for the past 3 years. I have never once been disappointed with any dish I have ordered. The atmosphere is friendly , the service great, staff very welcoming. The only minor glitch is the noise level can be a bit hard to talk when the place is full. Very kid friendly and wheelchair access is easy. Portions are super generous and often provide a second leftover meal the next day. This is a hard to beat friendly local restaurant. I plan to go there regularly.

The pasta dishes are excellent! Gluten-free alternative penne pasta was quite yummy. I love their tangy red sauce. The eggplant parmesan was divine! And drinks are poured generously. My personal favorite was the Manhattan. Regretfully I forgot to take photos.

Nice neighborhood spot — good food with large portions! Folksy — people will talk to you! Slightly noisy, but not in a bad way. Wait staff is excellent — ask for “Junior”, he will take care of you!!! Check out his mustard and ketchup shoes!!!

Great neighborhood restaurant. I sent with a traditional Ceasar salad and a chicken parmigiana with a glass of house red. Nate the best bartender in DC; old school and very attentive. Went back for the lasagna and added the bolognese sauce. Mama Mia!

If Seven Locks road was a rainbow, Sal’s would be the pot of gold at the end of it.
This place truly is a hidden gem. Of all the times I’ve been there (which was probably at least 3 times in the first 2 weeks of discovery lol), I always leave feeling full and satisfied (not to mention some extra leftovers). The quality of the food is always fresh and the portion are huge and very reasonable. The place is clean and the staff is always friendly.
This has definitely been my go to spot if I go out with friends or family. Would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Went based off the amazing reviews and left feeling underwhelmed. Service was great, Chad’s awesome, but the food was just ok. Arancini was dry and the best part was the sauce, which tasted like it came from a can. The lasagna was a HUGE portion, we shared it and still took the leftovers home- adding meat sauce was the right call, but it came out warm, not hot. The table next to us got their food around when we did and you could tell their plates were steaming hot. The lasagna was also just ok, nothing mind blowing.
Our table was terrible, right in front of the door and the constant moving in and out right next to us really detracted from the experience, this table should probably not exist.
All in all, this is probably a good neighborhood staple for residents but if you’re looking for amazing italian food, this place isn’t it. Good for an ok meal if you’re starving. Again, service was great.
