First time here. We like the place. We ordered fish taco and lunch fajita. Both were good and very reasonably priced.
Service was great. Our male server was courteous and accommodating. We like him a lot.

We loved Rancho Azteca. We sat outside, which was so pretty and relaxing. Great ambiance out there. The drinks and the food were delicious. The service, unfortunately, was not. It look a long time for our waiter to even come to the table. He kept ignoring us and taking extremely long to bring back requests like salt or napkins. Eventually we started stopping other waiters and just asking them. We would definitely go back because the food and drinks were so good, and hopefully the bad service wasn’t the norm.

walked in the other evening for dinner because Jessops was packed with a 2 hour wait. my wife and I really enjoyed the restaurant and the food. sometimes Mexican restaurants locally here in Delaware just feel crowded and loud with food that disappoints. not here. give it a try if you’re nearby. parking is kind of tough but we eventually found a spot and was a decent walk. prices were actually average to slightly below average and the quality far exceeded what I’ve sadly become accustomed to here in Delaware. pictured is the burritos deluxe I ordered. don’t forget to grab a happy hour priced margarita!

Here today 4/23/25 and having dinner on the back patio. Our server is Jose and he is very good and a professional. We ordered guacamole and it was prepared table side and it’s very cool. Also three entrees. All were very good and we enjoyed our meals. We added a sangria and beer to enjoy the food. Service was efficient and they checked often to see if we needed anything. The prices are reasonable and good very good. Love the new place and hope it does well. If they stay like they are now it will be a neighborhood staple.

We have been to many Mexican restaurants far and wide and this one is TOP NOTCH! The food was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. The small tableside guacamole was huge. The street tacos were perfection – I got the platter and chose 4 different to try. The margarita was amazing and also large. When we are back in this area again this will be a GO TO for us!! So glad we checked it out!

What a surprise. Went to Old New Castle for a bite and found this little Mexican restaurant. I had the burrito loco and my friend had a steak dish that was fantastic. Being from Los Angeles I’m pretty picky. Mostly because I hadn’t found any Mexican food in the entire state of Delaware that I thought was even edible. But this place was a big surprise.

Things in order of how good they are:
Guacamole @ the Table – This is the BEST. Make sure to figure out what you want, taste it and then ask for adjustments. Get the large!
Beans, cheese w/ Red Tomatillo salsa – they don’t come together, usually beans are a side dish I think, but they tasted good together.
Chips & salsa – pretty good, they don’t charge for it either afaict.
Enchiladas verdes w/o shredded chicken – ask what cheeses they have.
Lunch Chimichanga w/ some kind of beef brisket thing – tasted pretty good.
Enchiladas verdes with shredded chicken – the chicken here was a little dry I think.
Plain chicken & cheese quesadillas – slightly too oily and needs something else to go with it.
Other notes:
Food comes fast (although might be different if they are busy)
Servers are very friendly 😀
Water comes in big pepsi cola cup with lots of ice and optional lemon which is cool.
I think the meat is done with mexican spices which have a slightly strange aftertaste? Not bad per say, just different.
Advice:
Its a new restaurant so I imagine they are still figuring things out, but imo the best way to succeed as a restaurant is to have a relatively small selection of menu items that you are *really* proud of. Both to increase quality of the experience and reduce choice paralysis. Although that’s just my perspective so take it with a grain of salt.

Excellent Mexican restaurant! While still very newly opened, we have been there 3x because we loved everything about it. They serve some of the best tasting Mexican food I have ever had. The Shrimp tacos are amazing. The Mexican Candy drink is unique, fun, and most importantly delicious. Tres Leches desert, made by the Dream Bakery next door, is worth saving room for as well.The service is friendly and welcoming. I can’t say enough great things about Rancho Azteca! It is definitely worth checking out. It is not only the best new restaurant in Historic New Castle, it will become your new favorite restaurant too!

Food was fresh and delicious! Got the Enchiladas Verdes and Enchilada Supremes dinners. The salsa was also very good. This had to be one of the best Mexican meals we’ve had in a very long time. Not sure about the comment on paying for chips and salsa but they were provided for free. The ambience is casual and there is a full bar. Will be going back for sure.

What a great place! The size of the place is deceiving. We sat in a booth near the bar, it was very quaint and cozy. Our waiter was so nice and pleasant. He answered all our questions and helped with our selections. They have beautiful art on the walls along with a gorgeous sculpture in the bar area. I highly recommend coming here and enjoying a meal with friends and family.
