Who knew such good Mexican was in little Clarion, IA? These tacos and rice and beans and crema.. so good. Come here for lunch if you ever happen to find yourself in Clarion. Great spot. Very little seating. Most take it to go. $2.50 for a taco. Not bad for being so good!

Looks can be decieving.. just a few tables and chairs to sit. I ordered the steak tacos and they were amazing. The green salsa is the best I’ve ever had. I asked to have some in a To-go container. When he brought it out he told me they sell it in fareway stores. One visit and you will be hooked.

This isn’t beans out of a can, ground beef and cheese sauce. It’s authentic Mexican food! Staff is pleasant and provide great service. The store also has a a good assortment of Hispanic products. You will not be disappointed.
Edit: Since writing this review a couple more “Mexican” restaurants have opened in Clarion, I have tried them and I have to say La Tienda is still the best in my book. Time and time again, they provide excellent service and quality food.
