Not amazed at all. Philly cheesesteak was dry and the kids chicken nugget included a whopping 3 chicken nuggets and a tiny portion of fries. It was in a tiny tray same size as my wife’s side salad. Fries were not salted. Spent $46 on 2 adults and 2 kids and had to take kids to get a happy meal at Mcdonalds. Not worth the money.

Popular local staple………family owned with great food and better service. A little on the high side price wise, but at least you know your dollars are staying in the community. Fairly basic quick service menu with a few specialties. All outside seating in nice shaded picnic setting or dive-thru to go. Stop in……..guaranteed you’ll enjoy it.

We drove from Vernon, Alabama because we saw the milkshakes featured in a magazine. It was well worth the hour drive! Dogs are welcome in the fenced in area out back which was a bonus for us! A lady who I believe may have been the owner or a manager of sorts came out and asked if our pups needed water and gave them some treats. We will definitely be back!

I biked the Tanglefoot trail and found this place on my trip research. Great service, food was fantastic. I ate outside on the tables. The table service was nice! For the locals there is a large backyard with corn hole plus tables. Quite the place for food and fun!

Very knowledgeable about gluten issues! Bacon cheeseburger in lettuce wrap was superb – juicy, well-seasoned meat with plenty of fresh, green lettuce. Even the diet cherry coke (fountain drink) tasted great. A bit of a wait – p.s., worth it.

Best fried food I’ve ever had. I had a late lunch there on sat, June 20th. I had just biked 44 miles on the tanglefoot trail. Food was superb. Service was friendly and helpful. Had a seafood combo plate. Even the slaw and hush puppies were first rate. Savored every bite sitting in their relaxing, shaded, back yard area. Will definitely return when in the area. Thank you, Saxons!

Okay so we just discovered this place, very impressed. Small family owned restaurant in a small town, down home southern comfort food at its best. The menu is incredible, there are even vegetarian options, lots to choose from. The service is pretty good, some of the younger staff seemed a little lost but were very friendly. The prices were ok, seemingly normal as everything else is expensive nowadays. The food was great, tasted great, large proportions. I have a loaded chicken tacho & my husband had a BLT & fries. We had to wait about 20 mins, but they told us that upfront, which was fine because the food was fresh and hot. We will be visiting here again. If you find yourself driving through Houston, MS, stop by and try one of the many options.

We drove over 60 miles to come specifically to this place. The pictures we saw looked worth it. My honest review is that I got a patty melt (which was not how a patty melt is made). A patty melt is a burger with fried onions and cheese on Texas toast or marbled rye. Their version is barely any onion, lettuce bacon, and tomatoes. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t a bad bacon cheese burger, but not even close to a patty melt. I got onion rings, which were good.
My husband got a cheeseburger, the Saxton, or something like that. He said it was a burger. He ordered a large fry for $4.99 it wasn’t more than a medium, if that. The outdoor seating looks way better than it actually is now. I’m not upset that we drove that far because I have wanted to try it for a while now, but we won’t be back.

Saxon’s is a great locally owned restaurant. The staff was friendly and informative. The cashier even suggested a way to order what my son wanted that saved me money. They have a cute area set up in the back for games. The menu was displayed and large enough to read. friendly staff and prompt service are two things to mention from this place. We will be back. Big thanks for putting my son’s birthday on the sign! He loved it!
