The restaurant is in a big shopping center with plenty of parkings. Not a very big restaurant, but very clean and modern looking.
Scan the menu and there are quite many dishes to try and most of them are very inexpensive, under $20 which is nice we ordered quite a few plates. The appetizers are very tasty, I like the braised beef noodles soup, very delicious. The noodles are just right and the soup and meat are very flavorful.
My sister ordered some spicy noodles soup and it’s so good too. We share our food for tastes and the server was extremely accommodating with small bowls and cold water for spicy foods.
The food here is similar to many new Chinese restaurants in CA. The prices are a little less expensive but the tastes are quite similar. The gyoza in spicy oil is very excellent, the cucumber is very tasty and fresh.
This is a perfect place for me to come when I’m hungry without breaking the bank.
Will visit again when I’m here.
My husband ordered the spicy dry noodles with chicken, and he said they reminded him of the noodles from Din Tai Fung, which is high praise. We were both very pleasantly surprised by how good the food was.
The service really stood out. Our waiter went above and beyond. He helped us navigate the menu and patiently answered all of our questions. I had leftover soup and rice, and he carefully packed everything to go. It may not sound like a big deal, but when I got home and opened the soup, I noticed he had even wrapped it with saran wrap to make sure it would not spill. That level of care and thoughtfulness really made an impression.
The beef was a little dry
I was not feeling well and my soup made me feel better. The server was friendly and quick. The restaurant, while casual, is light and clean.
I would encourage other reviewers to reconsider how they rate casual eateries… When reading reviews for this restaurant, while their number is excellent…I do not understand how you can say they have the best wonton soup you’ve had in years or praise all aspects only to leave 4 stars. Casual eateries should be rated on their own merits, not necessarily compared to fine dining. They provide different services.
I love the decor and the coziness of the place. It is small but they make the most of the space they have.
The food was very good and tasted fresh. I enjoyed everything very much. If I had one minor recommendation it is that the spice level did seem a little inconsistent. For example, in the menu they have spice level indicators. We got 3 items of varying spice level but they seemed to be on different levels than what the menu indicated. It did not in any way detract from the taste, just something I noticed.
I would recommend starting with a lower level spice soup on first visit to see what you are comfortable with. Also reccomemd the dumplings and the Chinese scallion pancake.
The main issue with our visit was the staff attention. We rarely got a visit from the server and he did not return to our table after doing the plates of food off. We had to flag them down for the check to pay.
Overall it was still a nice visit and wouldn’t hesitate for a 2nd visit.
There were only 2 tables were used. Customer service was fine. Not much of interaction
The service shines as well, attentive, warm, and always spot-on.
Federal Way’s go-to for real-deal Sichuan spice!
