The Kung Pao chicken here is absolutely authentic and expertly crafted. You can tell the chef knows exactly how to handle the Chinese vinegar, adding it at just the right moment and in perfect balance, which elevates the dish without overpowering it.

Every bite bursts with fragrance and flavor — the peanuts add a satisfying crunch, the chicken is tender and juicy, and the sauce is a flawless blend of savory, sweet, and tangy notes. The combination of textures and the precise seasoning make it feel like a genuine taste of traditional Chinese cooking.

This dish is a standout and comes highly recommended for anyone seeking bold, well-balanced flavors done right. It’s clear that care and skill went into every step, making it a memorable experience for both the palate and the senses.

The Food at this place was amazing, I had the Honey chicken, Egg Corn Soup, Crab Rangoons, and Egg rolls,

Appetizers were amazing, tasted fresh the filling in the egg roll was if the ingredients were cut same day. Crab Rangoons we also amazing!! Best cuisine in columbus! Honey Chicken was also very good. Nice and crunchy and the meet was nice and juicy inside. Reminded me of hush puppies they also had a bit of a mustard kick.

Service was great, Server was very friendly attentive. I wish they had booths!! But thats my only gripe. The prices are not bad either. Check this place out when you can!!

I ordered Carry Out. I got the Szechuan Triple Delight which was delicious. The chicken, shrimp and beef were cooked to perfection as were the vegetables. I do not care for a lot of sauce so next time I will ask for light sauce but it was spiced just right and there was very little oil, which I appreciated! The hot and sour soup was spicy but just perfect for me! Felt so good going down with this persistent cold I’ve had. My only recommendation would be that the restaurant make their atmosphere more inviting. The stark, white lighting is awful. I would love to eat there but it’s just so bright!!

Just walking in and I knew it was gonna be good. They don’t waste money on decor. The staff were friendly and the food seemed authentic. Definitely different than most American knock offs.

We got 3 dishes:

The stir fry ramen was good. Perfect lunch fair and great for little mouths.

The squid had great flavor and was pleasantly spicy.

The tofu was very spicy but was missing something. Not sure what but seemed lacking.

I appreciated my ice water but the husband got the walovi. It was pleasant and herbal.

All of these dishes are easily shareable so a great place for a lunch date.

They have 2 different menus, one is regular American-chinese menu and the other one of more authentic Chinese menu. The Authentic Chinese menu is more flavorful and spicy. One of the very few restaurants that have authentic chinese food. The spicy chilli oil wonton is Great. Other dishes with squid and chicken were good too.

Really great Asian cuisine. The place is extremely small, and it can take a while to get your order, and the atmosphere is very spartan, but the food is worth wait. I especially enjoy their Thai entrees.

i LOVE Xin Wei! i always order their mala tofu, a deep fried golden brown tofu mixed with vegetables (carrots, onions, peppers) in a spicy brown sauce. (pictured below) its so flavorful and warm! i get their egg drop soup and steamed rice as well. the portions are always good and the food is always hot and delicious, and every time i go it’s always quick service. they have inside seating and outside seating with a roof. the restaurant has a classic, warm, authentic feel to it and i love coming here. PLEASE GO AND TRY!

This is an authentic Chinese restaurant, especially spicy dishes. It could be the best place in Columbus for spicy Chinese food lovers. They have various classic and impressive Chinese dishes, American Chinese food, and lunch specials. My favorite is their spicy fried fish, however, it could be better if using better quality of fish.

9/10/22: Tried the dinner portion of spicy chicken today. It lived up to its name with fresh sliced jalapeños! There was a lot of chicken (non-breaded kind which I prefer). There was also course sliced onions and fine sliced carrots. I especially liked the sliced slivers of fresh garlic. Served in a spicy special sauce. I recommend if you like jalapeño spicy food!

8/27/22: stopped in just after 3pm and ordered dinner portion of garlic chicken to go. Plenty of chicken, carrots, green pepper, and onions. Very tasty spicy garlic sauce. Waited less than 15 min. I recommend the garlic chicken. See pic. I’ll be back as I’m working through the menu items I want to try!

8/13/22: Kung Pao Triple Delight is excellent and my new favorite! I recommend Kung Pao anything!

8/6/22: ordered dinner portion of General Tso’s chicken to go. The portion is huge. What I find interesting about this dish is every restaurant makes it different. This one had no carrots, green peppers, broccoli or whole hot peppers in it. It has a good flavor. The other thing is the breaded fried chicken chunks can be tough to chew; this I know better. I would have preferred the steamed/boiled/seared chicken that is used in Kung Pao chicken, however that unbreaded chicken is prepared. The spring roll is good. I’ll try other dishes from Xin Wei that do not use the breaded fried chicken chunks. The picture is of half the actual order. I’m stuffed! I’ll be back!
