Visiting Wilson La Boca Restaurant in Cabarete is much more than just going out to eat — it’s a full experience!

From the moment you arrive, the adventure begins with their small but charming ecological park, where you can see crocodiles, iguanas, snakes, flamingos, and other species up close. It’s a unique and interesting touch that makes the visit extra special, especially if you’re coming with family or friends.

Then comes one of the highlights: a relaxing boat ride of approximately 30 minutes that takes you to the restaurant. The ride is peaceful and surrounded by beautiful nature, making it the perfect way to disconnect and enjoy the scenery before sitting down for your meal.

Once you arrive, the service is simply excellent. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to make sure you feel comfortable. You can truly feel their dedication and hospitality.

The food is delicious, fresh, and well prepared. The prices are fair and appropriate for the complete experience they provide. This is a unique and authentic place that stands out in the area.

I 100% recommend it and will definitely be coming back!

They cheat. My bill was 6100 pesos. It was for two small langoustines, 6 shrimps, maybe 10 pieces of conch, fruit plate and parrot fish. We also had 3 alcoholic and 3 non-alcoholic drinks. I cannot prove it because I did not take the weight of the seafood, but I feel that I overpaid about $40. If you go there, weigh everything, and get the price upfront. Also, when I gave them 6500 pesos, the lady just waited for me to go away before getting my change. And I did. No character, I know. The place looks beautiful though. Given that they pretty much ran out of food by 1pm, it is probably fresh.

Such an amazing spot. The food was exceptional and all the staff were friendly and attentive. Have the view of the river and the sea. Although it was busy it wasn’t loud, had a good layout. The whole fish was the best and best Piña colada I’ve ever had!

The parrot fish was so delicious. It was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. I had never eaten Parrot fish. Eating it at Wilson’s has made it my new favorite fish.

Ok, this place is RUSTIC. Wooden benches and tables, paper towels, a bar of soap, and bucket of water to wash your hands. But you do have several furry friends to greet you!

When they say it’s off the beaten path, they aren’t lying. If you don’t have a car, expect to have a bit of trouble finding a taxi that will take you, and they will upcharge you because it’s so hard on the vehicle.

All that said – what an experience! It’s truly wonderful. At the end of the road, you end up at a river that meets the ocean. You yell far across the water for a boat and someone will pick you up in a small, weathered wooden motorboat and take you to Wilson’s.

Once there, the menu is very limited. However, you will have the best, freshest seafood accompanied by amazing sides. Worth the trip and every dollar!

It’s an experience you likely won’t have anywhere else, and if you are a bit of an adventurer, definitely do it!

Wilson’s Restaurant is one of our favorite spots. We’ll always take visitors here because it is such a nice experience! Park the car, and there will be a guy there to take you over the river in a little boat. There are some undercover tables so it’s fine to go if it’s raining.
The friendly team will show you the traditional kitchen and how they cook the food. All the seafood is fresh every day!
The food is tasty and you can’t beat the location!

I absolutely loved this spot! We went here with a large group, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. The food was great and full of flavor, and the service was smooth and genuinely welcoming, even with a big crowd.

But it’s more than just a meal, it’s an experience. The journey to get there, the unique location, and the sense of exclusivity all made the day feel incredibly special. It has that local, under-the-radar charm that makes everything feel more personal and memorable.

Experience island life. The road in was a little sketchy, the short boat ride across the river and the entire area was beautiful. Service was super fast and they all spoke some English and we all spoke some Spanish with 3 toddlers and 4 adults. Food was awesome and the scenery was amazing. Bring your bathing suits and enjoy the warm water at the mouth of the river. Two of us ordered the Langosta 2lbs and they were amazing.
