I came here to try this place instead of doing all-you-can-eat shabu shabu. However, they do offer unlimited veggies with their shabu sets, which I thought was a nice compromise.
I came with friends on a Saturday and was surprised it wasn’t busy. We were seated right away. I ordered the regular beef belly shabu, which comes with 1/2 lb of meat. It turned out to be more than enough, and I even shared some with my friend.
The food was decent, but the service was the issue. I wouldn’t say they were understaffed — it just felt like the staff weren’t attentive. They stayed in the back and didn’t check on customers. It was hard to get their attention for refills on veggies or broth. They pretty much stay at the back. It would help if they had call buttons at the tables.
I’d come back if I’m in the area and not in the mood for AYCE shabu but don’t expect very proactive services.

I’ve been coming to this shabu since day one they open and supporting them at least every week during pandemic. Their shabu is by far the best for the price in town. It’s so disappointing everytime we dine in because they’re always short staff. To call someone to get veggies refills or to add on more order it takes forever to flag someone. It’s so hard to enjoy your dinner here. So I figured I’ll order Togo. I placed my ordered at 6:50pm and came in at 7:30pm and it’s still not ready. It’s fine that they’re busy. I waited a good 5 minutes at the front and no staffs around for me to ask if my order was ready. It’s pouring rain outside and I’m parking at the red zone at the front thinking I just run it quick to grab my Togo. A girl staff said to do you mind going to the front I said I came down bc I couldn’t see anyone at the front so I came back here to ask. She said well your order won’t be ready for another 5-7 minutes if you want just move to the back and park. I said it’s pouring rain outside I don’t want to walk a big loop just to pick up my order. Mind you this girl didn’t even apologize and just said tell me well we’re busy and our phone is not working so yeah. Why have curbside pickup option when you can’t even provide that service. I’ve been so patient with this restaurant and today will be my last time supporting this place. It’s so frustrating dine in or Togo.

Love this spot. Wife got the regular sized short rib shabu with creamy veg broth. Except for the mushroom and tofu the vege’s are neverending! Wife liked it. I got the beef belly rice with shoyu egg. Delicious! Good portion, but with my walnut sized stomach I took half home. Will definitely be back for the happy hour specials, m-f 5-7 pm.

Following a friend’s recommendation, I went ahead and ordered a large portion of short ribs for both my girlfriend and me. While the meat was decent, it was really the sesame sauce and garlic that elevated the experience. I might opt for a less expensive cut on my next visit.
However, while the food delivered on its promise, the service had a few hiccups. Upon entering, we were seated at the bar and kind of left to our own devices. Ordering through toast on my phone (which I personally dislike) was a bit impersonal for me. I’m more a fan of actual menus and some interaction with the staff.
Luckily, our food and water arrived pretty quickly, but the staff’s attention to our table was minimal until we’d finished our food. A staff member did eventually come around to check if we wanted more soup, which left me puzzled because why would we need more soup when we were out of meat and veggies?
It wasn’t until we were leaving that my friend mentioned we could actually get more veggies at no additional cost. I was surprised that no one mentioned this at the start or checked in during our meal, given how quickly we devoured those veggies.

I came here for dinner with my family and it was delicious! We ordered ribeye, lamb, and another beef option. It was busy around 7 PM and the waiting time was ~30 minutes long. I love the atmosphere and service was great

We were able to get a seat quickly when we went there after 8pm on a Saturday evening. It was quick to order on their app through QR code. Each meat dish comes with broth and a side of veggies and carb options (noodles or rice). We got 3 meat plates and 1 mixed seafood plates for 4 people and it was enough. Everything arrived pretty quickly. The quality of meats and seafood were great and fresh. We didn’t mind paying a bit more for the quality.

Nice little shabu shabu restaurant in downtown Alhambra. They were still practicing social distancing, but was able to be seated within 5 minutes. Overall, about 15 tables and about 10 seats at the center bar. Was immediately greeted and placed on the short waitlist.
Ordered several appetizers from the edamame, karaage, curry fries, squid leg karaage, and garlic wings. Took a little longer than expected to place my order, but once ordered, the appetizes arrived pretty quickly. All the appetizers were good, but my favorites were the squid leg karaage and curry fries. Gyoza, karaage, and garlic wings were good, but what you would expect from an authentic Japanese restaurant.
For the shabu shabu, it is a 3 step process of choosing your protein, choosing your broth, and choosing your carbs. The proteins were a nice mix of beef, pork, chicken, lamb, duck, and seafood. They allowed you to do a combination of 2 different proteins. The broths were a variety of soy based, miso, and tomato types. The carbs were choices between types of rice and noodles. I opted for the beef & seafood protein, creamy pork bone broth, and udon noodles. All the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. I cooked the food, so won’t criticize the cooking…
Overall, nice authentic shabu shabu restaurant. Service and food were good with a nice variety of options.

A friend mentioned eating at this shabu shabu place recently and we decided to try it since the sauces are said to be really good. I ordered a large size of the beef belly with house konbu broth. It was very satisfying and filling. The appetizers are made really fresh. The shrimp balls, karaage, and gyoza are top notch. The fried foods are really hot since they’re that fresh so be careful not to burn your tongue. The sesame and ponzu sauces really make the shabu shabu stuff taste even more better. I normally don’t use sauces but these ones are on a different level of deliciousness. The place is very clean and the service is one of the best I’ve seen. The ordering system is very convenient where you can just order from your phone and start your own tab. This is definitely one restaurant I’d recommend for dinner.
