It used to be really good but the new owners have not kept up the quality. I have been there twice since the new owners have taken over & both times it was inedible. The 1st time we went for breakfast. I ordered the country fried steak. It was brought out w/ no breading on it at all. The meat was gray. I tried cutting into it but couldn’t – it was super tough. They didn’t even have the gravy on it. They forgot about my toast. I complained & sent it back untouched & they didn’t even refund it (sorry, didn’t get a pix).
They don’t have the really good bread that they used to have & the coffee bar was closed.
The next time we ordered dinner to-go. I got the not nachos (a menu item transferred over from Cinders, which is now closed). I ordered the sauce on the side so that it didn’t get mushy. I wasn’t able to eat over 1/2 of them. See pix/videos.

Yummy food and great staff I have never had a bad experience eating here. I especially like getting my coffee here. The Higher Grounds coffee shop is really good and Julie and Laura make a great frappe! Thanks for all your hard work!

Baked goods are good. Tomato bisque soup was tasty, though large pieces of tomato peel could have used some softening. Rest of the food I ate was standard canned/packaged food you would get at a discount diner. I had the hot beef sandwich, which came with some tough, stringy, pot roast and gravy made with a mix packet or out of a can (or perhaps made with bullion cubes). Toast was just Texas toast from a bag. Wife had a burger which was was OK. Friendly atmosphere. Only one teen on duty taking orders, bussing, serving, and running the register. Poor kid did her best, but clearly needed some help.

A lot of people come here for the pie and coffee, which are both very good. Tonight’s special was BBQ ribs which were awesome. The baked potato, corn, and fresh baked bread we’re great. Love stopping here. Never disappointed. Great service.

We arrived in town early to meet with a seller. Decided to grab a bowl of soup. Ended up with an Americano, the special which was French Dip, a bowl of their soup of the day (Potato Cheddar) and a piece of Carmel Apple Pie a la mode.
Just wonderful! Great atmosphere, everyone is so friendly, amazing fresh food….. I wish I lived closer!
Going on my favorites list

Food is very good and fresh. Prices are great, you get alot of food for the money. Service can be a little slow sometimes. Very homey atmosphere. It’s a 45min drive for us but well worth it.

I had regular coffee and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was very dry and crumbly and it cost me $8.00. I won’t be going back.
