3 people with 5 dishes left 2 to-go boxes. What I ordered are followings:
– Fish and chips (upgraded to Halibut with $6 option)
– Seafood plate (with the first two choices of available fishes, sidedish as house salad and coleslaw)
– Skirt steak (as medium, sidedish as house salad and seasonal vegetables)
– Sailor’s pasta (with 2 pieces of jumbo shrimp)
– Two draft beers (Lagunatics, Southwest sth)
The total price was 115 dollars after the tax – and all were 5 star just right tastes as they are, and in proper temperature.
The staffs were so kind when we asked about the menu or names of the food (as we ordered two beers but Lagunatics beer was our favorite), and they’d never bother us but willing to serve with pride.
We were there at around 5 to 6 o’clock, and the weather was so good to have sunshines on the table. (There are some places inside with no windows, too.) Their restrooms were modern, bright and clean.
It was a Monday for lunch; it was quiet, so we got a nice booth towards the back of the room. A busser greeted us immediately with chips and salsa, and another brought water in a charming bottle.
We both ordered Ensenada Tacos (2) flour tortillas, beer battered mahi-mahi, jalapeño slaw, pasilla aioli, queso cotija, cilantro lime rice, black beans for $23.
Whenever I see jalapeño on a menu, I expect it to be spicy. The slaw was yummy but not hot enough for me. BUT… We asked Matthew, our server, for a hotter salsa, so he brought us a trio of salsas. Tomatillo, Roja, and Habanero… It was so good!!!
It could become one of my favorites; it’s classy without being pretentious. The staff is friendly, the space has good energy, and the decor filled my head with memories as we ate.
I need to go back to try some appetizers and desserts. Do you want to join?
The seafood was fresh and well-made. The atmosphere and service are also great. Great spot to eat at after going to the beach.
