Coffee • Cocktails • Goods • Dining Since 2012, our family has been making spirits in El Dorado Hills, and Hills is our latest way to share them. We’re a small, hands-on operation doing our best to put out good drinks and honest food. At Hills, you’ll find our coffee counter, bottle shop, and a cocktail bar and dining room built on the spirits we distill ourselves—vodka, gin, whiskey, and brandy. We keep our cocktails simple and rooted in craft, our menu fresh and seasonal, and our wine and beer list local. From sunrise coffee to sundown cocktails, Hills is a gathering place made for community.

Had the pork belly appetizer, chicken dinner, barramundi dish, and steak sandwich. All of it was very enjoyable! The atmosphere is cozy, homey, and very welcoming. A great new addition to the community. Amazing bathroom

Amazing! I look forward to see all of the new things that you bring to this already awesome business. The drinks are unique and fun and the food is delicious. The coffee bar is just getting set up but I love that they’re using Pachamama

We dropped in without a reservation and luckily a cancellation just came in so we were seated at a high-top table in the main dining room. The buildout inside was pretty cool and the bathrooms were clean and inviting. They were busy, although there were a few open tables so not slammed. The staff however seemed overwhelmed, with even the bartender waiting on tables so they need to fix that. After about 10-15 mins someone finally brought us a cocktail menu, and we ordered an old fashioned and a glass of red wine, which were good. We then ordered the pork belly appetizer, which was pretty good, albeit a little tough but the glaze was very tasty. We ordered the barramundi (sea bass) and burger. The fish was overcooked and laid on top of some sort of white bean, tomato, kale ragout. Sea Bass cooks fast and continues to cook when removed from the grill so they need to figure that out. I’d rather it was undercooked as opposed to overcooked. The side was a bit vinegary and did not mix well with the fish. I think just a white bean and onion sauce or dish alone would be a better pairing. The brisket burger was overcooked and tasted like a Costco patty and the bun was too dry and flaky to be useful. Overall, not impressed, as we got Applebees or BJ’s vibes from the dishes when we expected that a distillery would be more artisan and farm to table. We plan to visit again as they have just opened and are still figuring it out and I believe with constructive feedback will improve.

PS-The couple seated at the table next to us complained about the slow service as well and the bartender was very nice and helpful and apologetic.

Their marshmallow martini is the best dessert I’ve ever had! They make their simple syrups in house & this one isn’t too sweet.

This place is incredible. The atmosphere is amazing, and everyone who works there is so nice and welcoming. The food is easily some of the best I’ve had—just total quality across the board. If you want a great meal with top-notch service, you can’t beat this spot. I’ll definitely be back.

Second visit there… Chris and Liz do not disappoint. Cozy but dressed atmosphere with personable and talented mixologists. The menu changes but the chef’s talent does not! Located off the beaten path to complement Dry Diggins Distillery. It’s the best kept secret of El Dorado Hills … but not for long! Oh and 21 and over only… perfect for that true date night!
